Rodgers might get the chop if Liverpool don't liven up. Relegation risk on their current performance and a bad start to the CL doesn't bode well, when you compare to last season.

I can't see him being sacked even if they're still flirting with the bottom half at Christmas but I said late last season that it was likely to be Liverpool's best title winning chance for a long time because teams like Chelsea/City would be much stronger this season. IIRC I also said that Chelsea would walk this season. ;)

Liverpool will do very well to get top four this season.

Suprised LVG got so many votes. Granted they started really bad, but I think he is a top manager, just probably got complacent with transfers and not really getting any good defenders and using players like Blackett and then having injuries.

I think we will see whether man utd can come back to challenging after the next couple of transfer windows and whether they get the right players in or not.

Pardew has to be one of if not the toughest mangers that's ever graced the premier league. I can't imagine what it must have been like to all that abuse hurled at you at every game and taking all on the chin when finally managing to turn the teams fortunes around propelling them to mid table. Must be hard being a southerner working in hardcore northern city like Newcastle.

Big Sam and and Pardew have taken a lot of **** from their own fans, I don't like it when you hear people say "I'm so happy for the fans" because their fortunes have changed for the better. Just support the club and not hope you lose to get rid of the manager!

I'm a southerner working in a hardcore northern city like Newcastle, too. It's his shocking record this calender year (bar the last four games) that gets him abuse, not his accent.

Fat Sam actively chose to play crap football, he has played "try not to lose" football for so long, they were dire to watch. It was his refusal to even try playing better football that got him the grief and absolutely fairly. Let's not forget that he's both from all accounts had strikers bought for him and been pretty much told in no uncertain terms, play attacking football or be fired. He's been absolutely forced into playing the team like this. He's doing great this year, as much as it pains me to say it, but West Ham played crap football in the previous 3 years because Fat Sam made them play that way, it was entirely, 100% his fault.

West Ham fans I have no issue with, they fairly criticised the football, they pay for tickets and get treated to horrible to watch football. They made themselves clear they weren't happy, the board reacted and the result is a disturbingly attacking and exciting team to watch.

newcastle fans consistently ignored every single reason why Pardew was clearly in a horrible situation where any manager would also have struggled. They've attacked him constantly, acted like complete a-holes, turned on him exceptionally quickly after their brilliant season while completely ignoring the injuries and europa league games(either alone almost always causes a drop in league form for ANY manager or team, combine both in a recently promoted no where near top quality squad and you have the worst possible situation a manager can face really), instantly jumping to Pardew being out of depth and they really haven't let him out of the crosshair since.

The fans complete u-turn is as embarrassing as their Pardew hate in the past two years. So as you say, I'm not at all happy for Newcastle fans because their attitude frankly since being promoted has been pretty terrible, but having one epic year(and ignoring most of the reasons like a ridiculous epic run of fitness and lack of major injuries let them field an incredibly consistent line up which is extremely helpful in such a run as they had), they then used that as a benchmark rather than the exception and utterly refused to factor in a monumental injury crisis or the tough situation of a decimated squad dealing with extra games and travel.

I am happy for the West Ham fans, because they pay for tickets and now get a manager actually trying to win games and play exciting football, which for me is the bare minimum a fan can expect from any team at any level. Okay you might sit back against Chelsea once a season, but on average you should try and play actual football or what is the damn point. Trying to play good football and failing is so very different to intentionally playing crap football.

He's done well the problem for Pardew is (as an outsider looking in) every time he gets a decent squad of players and builds a team that could actaully achieve something the chairman constantly kneecaps the manager by selling all the best players and Pardew has to rebuild all over again.

As for accents....'Cockney Mafia' ring any bells?
