Sam Allardyce - Sacked as England manager amid corruption investigation

I dont quite understand the context in what he said.

Was he admitting wrongdoings or was he merely telling people what happens in football?

Big Sam opening the Telegraph this morning :D

Rumours that a certain other manager who's 'suspended' for tonights fixture might be named, along with a certain other Welsh man.

Feel sorry for Allardyce tbh, while what he did was undoubtedly stupid; the gutter press in this country are awful. I thought his comments (what I've seen) were stupid.

Half! You greedy sod, he was on £3m a year!

I'd do it for 2% of that.

That's only 60k a year. I sure as hell wouldn't take that job for such a pittance, comparatively speaking.

Tbh the only redeeming feature of the England manager's job is the money :p

Expecting a Shearer/Hoddle combo for some reason.

Given the recent trend I'd say you're more likely to end up with someone like Mark Hughes. They're basically looking for an English prem league manager who's struggled with a mid-table team for a couple months or a couple years, for whom taking the England job is a good way to avoid being sacked :p

e: he's bloody Welsh isn't he :p Tony Pulis?

But it's perfectly fine for you to speculate about other managers based on mere internet rumours (rumours which you are also now spreading by posting them). Righto.

Terrible appointment to begin with but to watch him go like this made it worth it. If Allardyce was the FA's first choice I'm terrified who we might end up with next.

What about George Graham?

He's English, and as honest as any current English managers.
