I dont quite understand the context in what he said.

Was he admitting wrongdoings or was he merely telling people what happens in football?

I'm wondering Shearer - works as a face saving exercise both in appointment and if he doesn't work out they can play the whole money where his mouth is card and shift the focus to him.

Shearer as a manager has done nothing of note, you can't appoint someone just because they were a great player.

Feel sorry for Allardyce tbh, while what he did was undoubtedly stupid; the gutter press in this country are awful. I thought his comments (what I've seen) were stupid.

That's only 60k a year. I sure as hell wouldn't take that job for such a pittance, comparatively speaking.

Given the recent trend I'd say you're more likely to end up with someone like Mark Hughes. They're basically looking for an English prem league manager who's struggled with a mid-table team for a couple months or a couple years, for whom taking the England job is a good way to avoid being sacked

Terrible appointment to begin with but to watch him go like this made it worth it. If Allardyce was the FA's first choice I'm terrified who we might end up with next.
