** Samsung 830 seres SSD, CRAZY PRICE ** READ POST 342

Unfortunatly, while we would refund from our system straight away, banks typically take 1-5 working days to fully process this back into your account. And with it being 2 bank holidays, there are fewer working days this week.
From having worked in retail here and elswhere previously, I have been told that it's actually the same for retailers. While the money may leave a customers account when an item is purchased, it takes days for the banks to process this to the retailer too. Allegedly.

Ok thank you for the response. Have you had the delivery of the Samsung drives yet?

I know its not a topic for the question like this but can u tell me guys if this ssd will be great for store and playing games ? Also what u think about this ssd in raid0 ? Thanks

Welcome to the forums :)

Depends how large your games library is ;)

SSD's are good for games, yes.

IMO, raid 0 on SSDs is pointless as you lose TRIM and the only speed you gain is something that you won't really notice most of the time.

I think Oc should stop taking money for orders that are not instock as its unfair when things like this happen.

I prefer it, it means I don't need to worry about it and I get a nice surprise when I get an email saying it's been shipped. Money burns a hole in my pocket far too easily

Try deleting the stuff you've never played, I reduced mine by 1/3. Still not restricting myself to 256gb, I need 512gb, no matter what cleeecooo says

I've tried that, but then when a friend asks if I want to play a game.. And I've uninstalled it, it isn't too great. Plus the fact I have terrible broadband.

Cleeecooo
Thank you for response, my steam library is 115 GB. So 240 will be enough for me :)

np, enjoy :)

Actually, I believe OcUK "reserve" money first. eg, you'll have a balance on the bank screen but you'll only b able to spend a certain amount of it

EDIT: presuming you turned overdraft features off

np, enjoy :)

Now that just sounds annoying. Anyway, it's better than being suddenly getting an invoice for something you ordered ages ago and finding you don't have the money
Pah, overdrafts are for weaklings (unless you are in financial difficulty, but yes for when you want to spend extra on a revodrive)

i canceled my order anyway its taking far to long and even with a 8gb usb stick thrown in the special price lost its shine for me.

doesnt look like ocuk have taken delivery of the drives yet so they wont until weds if your lucky you might get your drives on thursday.

i wish andrew would just have came out and said they didnt have stock instead of misleading us with comments saying the bulk of the order was here when its now clear it wasnt.

i would have switched my order to the agility 3 on offer instead if i would have known it would take so long.

while its not OCUK's fault the drives didnt arrive they could have kept us updated better than they have instead of keeping everyone hanging on

I can't disagree with the above. Its truely disappointing. The fact is, the price was pretty much matched elsewhere and they had stock.

I figured I'd give the smaller company the money as its always better to support the small ones than the multinational companies but hey ho, you live and learn.

Next time I shall get it from somewhere thats showing stock, not promising and then failing to deliver (unfortunately - literally)

Mine did arrive mate so they deffo did have some turn up...

when did you order? i ordered around 1hour and 20mins after the offer went live

anyway i would have thought i would have been part of the bulk order...

read that post

then read this one

contradicts what the first post said?

5UB seems to tell it how it is

also lets not forget at the start of the thread when someone asks about stock were told

i'd have to say someone wasnt quite honest with us

Thats why i use the other big company as they dont take money until item is dispatched and when they say they have stock they really do have stock.
