Samsung Galaxy Note: 5.3", 1200x800 SuperAMOLED, S-PEN stylus, 2500mAh attery... *phew*

I don't suppose anyone else is experiencing an annoying flicker in flash videos played in the browser? For example in all youtube videos the top half of the video has flickering lines.

I suspect my device might be faulty, however other videos that are downloaded (MKVs etc) don't seem to exhibit the problem at all

I've have the same issue, the link above explains it though

Thanks for the responses. I had seen the same link in my search but it seemed to be a Tegra problem and was fixed with a rom. Weird that not everyone experiences it.

Another potential video problem that I'd be grateful if anyone could check... In the "lightness & stillness" Samsung video that comes with the device, in the section with water bubbles and white background that begins at around 00:15 I get a pulsating/flashing halo effect in the white background, most noticable at about 00:20.

I've seen it a couple of other times in videos with white backgrounds but I'm unsure if this kind of thing is common with SAMOLED displays. I've not seen anyone mention it before though.

ok just got it, set it up started went onto this site everything is fine, so when i double tapped the screen it zoomed in but it also kept the whole page on the screen, no horizontal scrolling portrait position which was ace, and i think when i zoomed in again it did the same. but now seconds after its doing what my galaxy s2 did where as it zooms in but now i have to scroll:(

thing is im sure i remember my galaxy s2 zooming in with no scroll but then that decided to start using scroll after a while, is there a setting? im on the standard browser

Change to Dophin HD.

I'm struggling to imagine exactly what you mean. Try setting user agent as desktop maybe? Is it all sites or just one?

its all sites and i remmeber setting it to desktop when i first used the internet app, tried the debug thing but user agent seems to be missing.

what i mean is say if you open ocuk forum page holding the phone anyway, well once the page is open you double tap the screen to zoom in, now when it zooms in the text becomes bigger but it still shows the whole of the page ie you dont need to scroll left or right, obviously you have to still scroll down but i had it where everything got zoomed to a comfortable size yet i didnt loose any of the sides of my pages.

if i open ocuk in landscape, then the default zoom/look whatever is fine and easily readable.

anyway it doesnt matter, not arsed about it anymore, my note slows down lots maybe i need a task killer

Mine just arrived. Screen is

Whats the best office app for android? Documents to go?

Coming from an iPhone 4S this thing is more responsive :)

had another play with it.. i just cant see how i could use it as a mobile phone :O

You have to weigh that up, if you require something which will be used 80% of the time to make calls on, this is not the device for you. If you however spend 80% of the time doing other things, nothing comes close to this imo, it is quite simply a beast.

I should be getting commission from Samsung with the amount of demonstrations I have given of this now, I am beginning to get sick of it :p but it's the same reaction everytime..'WTF is that' and then I simply have to show them. A work colleague rang me today asking where the cheapest place is to buy the Note from, he is returning his S2 after only owning it for a week. No commission for me though. :(

what i meant is that it just feels to "big" but i bet i could get used that.. screen is brilliant :O i probably looked like an idiot staring at it from centimeters to see pixels at CPW.. i might be getting it or something else that size after i get bored of my S2 which does fine and its a great phone.

After a few days it doesn't feel that big, other phones will just feel as though they have shrunk. :p I mainly use mine for internet browsing, gaming and watching videos and it does all of these brilliantly!

is nobodys lagging even slightly? especially when pressing the home key, sometimes it takes well over a second to get back to home.

If the note is the same as the SGS2 double pressing home will open VLingo. Because of this when you press the home button once it will wait to see if you are going to double press. This is what causes that lag.

It's fixable when rooted, as you can change it so it doesn't check whether you're double pressing (which obviously disables double pressing to open VLingo), you'll have an instant home button then :).

Just for people who are curious on battery life using it as a normal phone aka not that much.

After 14 hours I am on 79% battery. That is with 15 mins of calls, and 20 minsish of web browsing. Oh and some emails and note jotting.

I've just had this for over a week now, and loving it to say the least.

First smartphone and contract and now I dont know where I would be without it. Dad had the S1 and when I saw that for the first time I knew they would be a success.

Still finding out new things about it, and tuning it to my requirements.
