Samsung Galaxy Note: 5.3", 1200x800 SuperAMOLED, S-PEN stylus, 2500mAh attery... *phew*

"Hi! I'm a geek and I want to be robbed"

All this is saying to me.

If you can't live your life without being 'connected' then I guess this is for you. A lot of people will buy it just because it's new/expensive (as above) but in reality there is no real need for this product.

Its nothing whatsoever to do with being "connected", the Galaxy II does 99% of what this phone does in terms of connectivity... the difference is that this is bringing a crazy good screen onto a larger form factor that IS portable enough to carry around like a normal phone for the most part. Obviously you wouldnt take it out clubbing or legging it around festivals, but for people with less hectic lives it will likely prove awesome for travelling, internet, satnav etc on the move. And again, likely very good for corporate users.

so i'll get one, it'll suffer numerous bugs and lack updates to an extent that it will only really be worth owning after its rooted. but knowing me, i'll be getting the one that can't be rooted.

crikies, just like my Galaxy S then.

Exactly the opposite.

Samsung has updated the S2 numerous times since launch. They also updated the S1 a year or so after launch.

Being a bitter S1 owner won't help :p

How did the S1 get lack of updates? It started on 2.1 Eclair and is curently on 2.3.4 Gingerbread so what you're saying is not based on fact, even the ones not able to enter download mode via 3 buttons is fixable...

I just can't see mass appeal for that, does it even fit in a pocket.
And if it is to big to be used as a phone. You might as well have a 10" screen.

Don't get me wrong I wish I had a bigger screen on my phone, but at the end of. The day, it still needs to be a phone and fit comfortably in pockets.

Don't wear skinny jeans then and this will fit in your pockets :D:p

Am I supposed to read your post in the mirror because it seems back to front :p

It will fit in the average jeans pocket, yes, that much is clear if you look at the Youtube vids. Also those of us with bigger hands should be fine gripping it too.

Really reminds me of a HP iPaq or Palm PDA, and they used to be carried about everywhere.

Found my next phone!!! lol

I love to browse and watch youtube on my phone, currently have the HTC Desire and after using a Desire HD i am gutted at my small screen. My T-Mob contract should be up next year so would love to get something with a bigger screen, i think this looks great bar the stylus, never been a fan of those.

Looking at the comparison between it and the SGS2 which I've got now it would probably fit into the pockets on most of my jeans.

However my issue would be with using it one handed, the SGS2 is just about usable with one hand in my experience, this is significantly wider which I think could get annoying at times, I think the 4-4.5" range is the perfect ones for a phone, just need to get a phone with a screen in that range with a res of 1280x800 :p

finally something to take over from my dell streak:D:D and about time too.

once you have watched bbc iplayer and movies on a 5" screen like the dell streak every other smart phone just becomes a normal phone and stops being a media decive as it seems too small.

now a samsung streak that is going to be great:cool:

Just seen this and WOW, depending on the iPhone 5 spec, this may well be my next phone. Yes it is huge, but the benefits of having such a glorious screen means I can probably deal with the size. Plus I won't need to buy a laptop. :D

Personally I would have thought 4.8"-4.9" is the absolute max you want to get out of a phone, but even this is way beyond that. It might possibly be a step too far but at least Samsung are giving us plenty of options which is nice. :)
