Samsung Galaxy Note: 5.3", 1200x800 SuperAMOLED, S-PEN stylus, 2500mAh attery... *phew*

Are you sure the advisor on the phone wasn't just confused as the Galaxy S Plus is available?, it's faster than the Galaxy S with better battery, not the S "2".

No mention of the Note on there website.

Okay, basically the official line from Vodafone is that it isn't for sale nor has it been released yet, but they were fairly vague... so you never know.

I was quite specific when I spoke to the advisor. I stated the Galaxy SII and he said that the Plus (as he was calling it then) was identical but with a faster processor and better battery. I countered this by pointing out that the Plus is a 1.4Ghz verion of the Galaxy and the II is a dual core but he said the Plus is dual core (1.4Mhz) and has a more powerful battery. Then he said that it is also being called the Note. The stats he gave me check out with GSM Arena but he failed to mention the extra size of the screen.

I rang up a short while ago to check on this order and the advisor I spoke to again called it a Plus, so whether the original advisor has got his wires crossed, I don't know. I might ring back shortly and get confirmation because if it is a Plus and not a Note then the DPD driver can just take it back.

I've just been on the phone to Vodafone and they've persuaded me to have one of these as an upgrade rather than the GS2 (which the couldn't do free)

You've been sold an SGS Plus, not a note. http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/mobile-phone/Samsung-galaxy-s-plus . I know for certain they don't have the note yet :) As a general rule never, ever get handset advise from retentions as they are on huge incentives to get you to upgrade onto EOL handsets, "handsets of the month" (aka HTC are giving the network £10 for every phone we sell in <month>) and a whole bunch of other "opportunities".

If you want confirmation you should have received an invoice for it - the model will be on that (possibly by email?). Alternatively phone up voda and ask for the model number (not name, dunces can't be trusted) on your order.

i9001 = SGS+
i9100 = SGS2
i9220 = Note

My money's on the SGS+. Also - make sure you inform them of this mis-sell, you'll likely get something out of it for their lying.

I've just come off the phone with Vodafone and they've confirmed that it is the Galaxy S Plus. Shame really. On the upside, it means they will now give me the white SII for free! Every cloud and all that. :)

I have a nokia classic work phone. This is actually quite tempting! Make me feel much better about missing out on the touchpads haha
