Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

I finaly managed to update mine through kies to froyo (t-mobile) The gps problems I've had are still present, although i have managed a couple of locks which is a slight improvement! The phone is certainly faster and smoother than it was and my browsing experiance has improved, still looks like I'll have to send it back for the gps issue though.:(

Look for a Nokia N95 video lead, about a quid.

Got one now but I must be doing something wrong.
Do I need to set something up on the Galaxy to tell it to output?

DONE IT
TV Out in Settings.
That means I've just paid for a lead when I already had one that came with another device I had:(

Hi all,

Had the Galaxy s for a while now recently its been odd. Halfway through text message's or sometimes random just crash / power off then re-load everything again.

Firmware 2.1 update1
Eclair

Yesterday evening I went for a curry with 11 ex workmates from the factory I worked at 3 years ago and during the evening a question was asked and I pulled out my Samsung.
This morning I've got to email/text 9 of them with info on both the Samsung and new SF.
It was funny to watch 11 blokes who are all 50+ looking as though they'd got something from Star Trek in their hands.

Anyone else find the new market app more laggy than the old one?

I'm not using a lagfix, maybe I should...

Is there a current favourite for Froyo?

That's what I was afraid of. I get 3 days currently, though granted I don't use it that much in a day, compared to some.

I heard some saying JPU was pretty good without any lag fix. I'm on JPO and it's not bad, but it still does lag from time to time (nowhere near as bad as 2.1 JG3).

Im running JPU rooted but no lag fix it runs fine with no noticible lag, getting about 2 days out the battery and thats with email set to check every hour, bit of internet and a handfull of short calls a day.

What's the default email client like? The one on JPO lags and is just generally slow and cruddy. I've switched to k9 mail on a recommendation earlier in this thread and it's a big improvement but it'd be nice if they fix that at some point/port the Tab version properly.

Thanks btw!

Just connected my Orange Samsung S up to Kies for the first time and after spending a while getting use to the program I noticed it said there was a firmware update. Did it and now phone is running 2.2. Real shame I've gotta go through and reset everything up again though (organise my icons and my desktops and stuff).

Any bugs you've experienced with JPU at all?
I was on JPU low level (Sbl, dbdata, bootloaders etc) with the superoneclick root and it's the best so far. Battery drain is excellent. Not used it much, but used 12% over 50hrs, 20 mins screen on time, 15-20 calls etc. JPU is pretty bug free, main one was the file permissions for the usb kies driver. Flashed JPX (mid level, no bootloader etc) they added a wallpaper, pretty much the same build as JPU, but can't really comment yet. Definitely worth moving up to 2.2.1, can't say I've seen any lag at all tbh.
