Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

Haha I can't wait, but I keep watching videos on the desire, I'm in love with it's ui, why did samsung have to implement touch wiz. :(

The Sense UI? Well, myself and quite a few people on here aren't even using it really, we've all got LauncherPro :p

I'm sure once its rooted etc the Sense UI will make its way on to the Galaxy S, even then, you can live without it no problem at all.

Mines out for delivery so when it arrives I'll get some shots up for you all inc box n contents etc. I'll also shoot some video with it and upload accordingly.

Oh and Ive got some Hovis in stock :D

I just got one of these babies from Camberley CPW when I was visiting Sandhurst on Sunday.

My first impressions was that it felt cheap and too light. However, when I saw the screen, next to my iPhone 3G and the HTC Desire - my mind was almost made up.

I had a few more minutes play and I was sold - bought it simfree so I can take it back to Oz with me when I return next month.

Now I've just got to learn how to customise Android - seems pretty rough round the edges compared to iOS 3. Being an inner geek - I secretly like it.

So the "best android apps" thread is getting a little large... Any quick must haves from any android experts? I've put on launcherpro and it's a massive improvement over the stupid TouchWiz interface (I don't actually know what they changed versus generic Android).

I've heard the screen is quite something, it certainly does appear impressive.

With regard to essential apps, its hard to recommend them because it depends on what different aspects of the phone you use. LauncherPro is nearly just about a must have so its good you've got that though ;)

Please do! :D

I would flog my Desire and xbox 360 to fund one of these.

Have you had a go with one Jabbs, prefer it over the Desire?

Just ordered mine :)

£40 a month but cheapest i could get for 18 months and i only like Orange, and £9.99 for the handset.

Should be here tomorrow :) Can't wait, i love new gadgets! As soon as i get it, putting on launcherpro on it which i assume is downloadable from android market?

Yes it is.

I'd have thought you could have got a better deal than that unless you need a shedload of minutes?

I searched all stores, most were 24 months which i don't want, as i'm moving to america in just over a year.

Looking over my recent bills, i could do with the spare minutes (damn girlfriend), unlimited texts are standard, and i intend to be on the internet a lot.

Feel free to try and find me a better deal! :p (Bare in mind i'd rather not spend anything on the actual handset)

Video to follow shortly (don't expect much..!!):D..

First impressions are:

+ The Screen is jawdropping
+ Very quick, even to boot
+ Extremely responsive
+ Fits perfectly into my hand
+ Very light
+ Micro SD slot as well as 8gb internal storage

- A Bit plasticky
- W7 64bit doesn't recognize it (dunno about other OS's)
- Initial Video quality does not look too good tbh
- 2gb of Internal storage dedicated to apps...grrr

Will sort the video out now.

Not messed with one but am sure the screen will look better specially in sunlight and we all know HTC can't do a good camera to save there lives.

I know people say 720p is coming to the desire but i don't hold up much hope for how good it will be, am sure the Samsung will be better in both.

Just bought one from carphonewarehouse :D
Couldn't take it away coz I'm waiting for O2 to text me my PAC number, because Vodafone doesn’t allow for numbers to be transferred AFTER the contract starts – silly isn’t it :(

Any news on when the version with a physical keyboard will crop up? I've seen some shots of it on tech blogs but nobody seems to have heard about a release date...

Looks very nice.

I dont actually think it looks bad at all, bit like an iPhone but we all know its better by a country mile ;)
