Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

Does anyone else have problems with GPS and 2.2, at first the GPS was lighting fast but now its really random, sometimes it well find me sometimes it wont and ive tested this outside and it never had problems like that before :S. I switched from JPC to JPK after that and it still seems the same, when it went to it finds me in my house in seconds other times wont find me outside were my friends get located to within 2 meters or so.

Ah just checked my account on dial-a-phone and it's only been delayed by a day by the look of things! Should be here tommorow!

I've ordered mine from there too, order wednesday evening last week and still not recieved anything. Current status is listed as being Released to Oracle. Not sure what that means. But my delivery date seems to change everyday. Currently showing the 5th. However when i phoned them last night they told me they didn't have any stock.

I'm about to order one form mobiles.co.uk. 300 mins, unlimited txts, 500mb data for £25 per month (free phone). After cashback through them, it's £18.75 per month (6 months free of 24) and it appears there's also £50 quidco. I can get £82 for my old E71 too. Their T&C state I can port my number over too without any effects on cashback, so I'm going to call Three and get my PAC code. With any luck that should be easy....!

Any tips people? I just call three and request PAC, I'm within the last 30 days of my contact but haven't cancelled it yet (I think I have to trans my number first).

Mine says released to Oracle too, it better not change everyday now. I'd rather it just updated me when there was a definate delivery date.

Due to an unforeseen processing problem, there has been a delay in despatching your order. Your delivery has been changed from 5 October 2010, to 6 October 2010. If you are not in when the courier calls they will leave a card explaining how to arrange a colln or delivery of your package. We apologise for this delay and any inconvenience caused. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Dial-a-Phone Customer Care.

When i got my Galaxy i originally ordered from dial-a-phone but i had the same problem. I even phoned them up and they promised me it was going out that day. I got an email (3rd one) saying there was a delay again so next morning i cancelled and ordered from mobiles.co.uk who dispatched it same day. dial-a-phone didnt even question me canceling the order they just did it and said bye.

So its likely to keep changing every day? If so, i'll cancel tommorow and just go into a store and pick one up.

Wrong way round, most telcos wont release the number until the contract is over but it's sometimes negotiable.

I think I've already paid my last bill, contract ends in a couple of weeks. I was under the impression that if you cancelled your contract the PAC code wouldn't work. I don't really want to pay an extra month.

I'm sure people have got better deals but I've just ordered mine and this is what I got:
Phone: £99
Line Rental £10
200 minutes (I think, might be 300)
Unlimited texts
Unlimited internet
24months

Over the course of the contract that seemed pretty good, especially as the sale of my Touch HD will easily pay for the phone.

I've just phoned them up to find out what is happening and this told me that it has now been released from the factory and will be dispatched today.

So if it doesn't turn up tomorrow i might just cancel and go elsewhere.

Where did you get that deal from? I might cancel my order and go for this instead.

Hi Darryl, thanks for finding out, sounds a bit more promising that anyway!

How does the Galaxy compare to the new Desire HD?
i expected it to be higher spec than the Galaxy, but quick look on the specs suggests it is very similar.

Alright guys, 3 retentions:

Free Galaxy S

500 mins
unlimited 3-3 calls
unlimited txts
1gb monthly internet
£15 off first bill
free bluetooth headset (worth about a tenner)
24 months
something about orange hotspots too
24 month handset warranty

£25 per month with no cashback to worry about or PAC codes and so on too

I can sell my old mobile for £82 ish, it all works out about £20 per month, same as what I pay for my E71 now but with more minutes and a top-class phone.

I'm sold tbh, may be able to squeeze a bit more but seems pretty good to me
