Samsung Galaxy S... highest spec Android phone released... also with QWERTY!

You need download mode to be able to use odin. Odin basically does a clean flash of the phone from within this mode and allows for pretty much any problem which can arise to be solved.

If you're going to do something which invalidates the warranty, its a very good idea to ensure this is working.

Would i be better off taking my phone into t-mobile then and telling them to sort it? Im wanting to update my phone to froyo when t-mobile finally release it.

Thanks

But don't i need this 3 button thing to work to update it?

Think you only need that if you want to do the dodgy update!

Anyone got the Samsung Galaxy S to work in car yet? My car has bluetooth and connects and pairs fine and will do calls through the car speakers but it should read out messages when I get a new one but it's not.

Car is a Fiat Bravo 07 with the Fiat Groups Blue&Me Microsoft system?

You don'nt need the 3 button modes to work to flash using kies but if it goes **** up and the phone bricks there is no way for you to fix it yourself without the 3 button download mode.

If you're using Kies you're warranty is still valid. T-Mobile and Samsung can't blame you for using the official update software.

Im not reckoning much to this froyo update. Had it on about 4 hours now and nothing as impressed me. Everything is very sluggish, from the menu's to sending a text to even posting on this forum, very slow! The touchscreen is no where as sensative as it was either. A big chunk of my free memory as gone somewhere to.

Turned the phone on and off about 5 times to see if it would sort anything out, but nothing.

So no, im not impressed at all with this froyo update.

Have you tried clearing the cache/dalvick cache, many on XDA have said thet doing that or a factory reset After updating to Froyo, made a big improvement?

I've only had my SGS for 9 days but I can now get rid of my IPOD Touch.
I've been experimenting with music & video today and I'm well impressed.

For those having GPS issues, make sure you have the left hand side of the phone pointing skyward in your car mount. Mine was next to useless, then i tried turning the mount round and ever since it's been faultless.

There is a new Froyo 2.2.1 JPU firmware out on XDA, flash with Odin Only, reports look good, seam fast, quadrant over 1200 without lag fix... and adds OTA support.

339MB accessible RAM as well. Nice jump from 304MB.

What does froyo 2.2.1 bring again? I can't seem to remember the details.

I think I'll wait to see people confirm the lag fix works on it.

Seems to be a banging firmware, i've read a few people having a few problems when applying the already released tweaks, so i'll wait i think before upgrading until they iron out the kinks on the custom stuff.

Just upgraded mine to 2.2.1, it flies, just restoreing my apps with my backup pro...
Only tweak applied was CF-Root 1.3, tried voodoo RC1, but wifi would not connect.

This worked. I did a factory reset and now everything seems to be in order up to yet.

Thanks
