Samsung Galaxy S2 vs HTC Sensation

Most Sony stuff is just Samsung components with a Sony badge on :p

Then again, the same can be said for the iPhone

Sony phones fall down primarily at software level, their cameras have been amongst the best since the K800 days, and their audio is good too.

HTC have always had crap cameras because they don't really have any experience with them, whereas Sony/Samsung have their own technology branches to help out.

Nokia managed to get their cameras up to scratch due to being market leaders for so long and being able to invest in all the Carl Zeiss shizzle.

SE have learnt from past mistakes now, the software and support is much better now.

Defiantly, they're on the right track. In fact...

Sony-Ericsson don't use any Samsung components these days. Current gen phones typically use Qualcomm/STMicroelectronics components. (not including the Sony/Samsung sLCD screens :p)
Once they move all components to ST/Ericsson/Sony they should be able to match Samsung for (more bespoke) high end phones like the SGS2.
(Think ST-Ericsson NovaThor SoCs, ST NAND and other bits, Sony/Sharpe 10th gen LCDs or Sony OLEDs, Sony camera modules etc.)

Only poor management can mess it up :D

yup - I was talking about my Mozart handling 720p ok but just remembered doh! - it wasn't streaming at full 720p res (just to internal screen)

I'd love to know if the SGS2 can handle 1080p mkv's to a telly?

NHL or dlna? I can try the latter tomorrow at lunch!

1Ghz phone can handle 720p mkv's fine too mate, it's the 1080p stuff that they can't handle. what with Dual core and an extra 200Mhz I'm keen to know if that is true?

thanks

I have played 1080p no problem on my GS2 runs them flawless in MKV format also bit no cables out yet so can't test to a tv.
