Samsung Galaxy S2 vs HTC Sensation

they both suck balls big time as soon as you get any strong light shining on them.

The biggest difference I noted was simply TW vs SENSE, both where slick as you like, even the cameras seemed to give almost identically reasonable performance..

I can't say I agree. Demo'd both outdoors at work, and the SAMOLED was considerably more legible in direct sunlight than the Sensation.

There didn't seem to be much in it when comparing camera shots on the phones themselves, but when transferred to a pc the SGS2's pictures were better enough to warrant a tick over the HTC.

Both are undeniably head and shoulders above the competition though.

I think you'll agree the Galaxy S II has got your Arc beaten, surely :p

:p

Depends on how good the camera, internet use & multimedia use is. I am not fussed about applications as I don't really have many on my phone.

I'd star out those swearies mate before a Don sees!

I didn't think WP was that bad, I've had a play around with it and I was impressed. The only thing with WP7 thats a problem at the moment is the current handset lineup IMO, they are not really pleasing on the eye.

Sunlit day legibility is poor on the SGSII, proof:

The camera is as good, if not better.

Internet use is the best around, multimedia is the best around out of the box too.

;)

I know Samsung's are well known for using very good DACs. IIRC Wolfson?

What about the HTC?

Not as good, though websites are apparently marginally better to look at when zoomed out on the Sensation due to the qHD res. Camera is apparently worse too.

That's pretty much what I though, from HTC's I have had in the past the camera and audio playback was pretty poor.

Time to hash a deal out with Vodafone I think :D

I don't use filters so no to that question :p

And no HDR either, just a direct exposure (see exif).

Autobrightness off, power saving off.

Pretty simple way to look at it:

Samsung produce digital cameras, digital camcorders, monitors, tvs, and music players.

HTC produce phones.

It shouldn't be a surprise that Samsung's hardware components would be better.

It's posts like these that make me think I should stop considering the Sensation.

Jack of all trades, master of none. Not suggesting for one minute the SGS2 isnt great, just pointing out that the point he's making isn't really valid. The Samsung Galaxy S II isnt good simply because Samsung make loads of other stuff :p

They've made plenty of junk in the past don't forget.
