Samsung Galaxy S2 vs HTC Sensation

Is the SAMOLED screen on the SGS2 as clear as the SLCD's that HTC offer? I seem to remember that there were some noise about text being ever so slightly blurry on AMOLED screens?

It isn't quite as crisp as it is on SLCD screens but its generally fine.

In my opinion the text is slightly clearer on the Sensation however overall colour reproduction was better on the Galaxy. The text on the Galaxy isn't blurry and it is only when you see it beside the Sensation that you even notice.

The people that reckon Sense slows down Android massively - have you only used a 2.1 rom or something? My Desire absolutely flies with Gingerbread Sense and it was really fast with FroYo as well. I imagine that the Sensation will be even quicker with dual core.

Having said that I'll be getting an SGS2 because of the dev scene and it can control my TV with the remocon app. ;)

Locked bootloader on the HTC... i`d consider buying the iphone over that ... im going to hell !!!!!!! SGS II easy, although it feels horrid, and looks so boring. Bit like my SGS ...tee hee..

just had a quick play in a shop with the SGS2

coming from a blackberry it felt very strange to me but my overall first impressions were thats its very nice

i guess it would take me a little while to get used to it

still waiting for orange to get stock in and then i think that is what ill go for.

Just had a (very brief) play with a Sensation in Vodafone. Feels more ergonomic in the hand, screen resolution is nice but not as vivid as SGS2. Design of it is still a little bland though, which I guess is a good or band thing depending on your vewpoint - although I did like the curved edge of screen. Definitely felt nice and solid.

The sgs2 with the official vent case boosts the ergonomics and makes the phone look super sleek and smart.

Not tried one, but I have a Barely there case which should be be pretty much the same and makes the ergonomics worse for me. It's not terrible, but just too square and wide.

The HTC is about the same width but has a nicer feel due to the rounded back.

Apparently the slightly higher res and crisper text would make the Sensation the better phone for mainly web browsing, hm...

^Dunno if that's important or not cos I double tap a webpage anyway soon as it loads which zooms in; on any 800x480 display I've used. Will probably do the same on the QHD display so don't see that as a factor. No point straining your eyes!

I would have thought that too manoz but apparently its fairly legible when zoomed out.

Still, I'll have to buy/try one and find out. Then I can do a large in depth comparison with the SGS2.
