Samsung Galaxy S25 Family Thread

Decided to give this a miss now and stick with the S24U. Will hopefully swap back to a Fold 7 if it looks good later in the year

Does anyone else find the battery does not last as long ? I find I'm charging the S25u more often.
I find the S25 ultra noticeably faster than the S23U but the battery does not last me as long.
I find it a little more comfortable in the hand with the right case but without the case the edges are slight sharp. (it may need a update or still learning)
its a lot brighter
I made the right choice, when picking the Jet black.

I got my order on the 1st but still waiting for the review request, is anyone else waiting ?
Has anyone left a negative lower start rating ? I'm sure the review request did not say anything about the try of review it needs to be but I'm bettering no one wants to take the risk.

My S25U was also delivered on 1st Feb. I'm still waiting on hearing that my trade has been accepted (they emailed to say it had been received on Friday) and had no review link yet either.

The last full day from a single overnight charge for the S25U shows the following:

Battery usage 93%
Screen on time 9 h 30 m
Screen off time 9 h 52 m

With 5-6hrs of video and an hour of games. No battery saving. Mostly WiFi. No charges throughout the day.

Today shows:

Battery usage 53%
Screen on time 5 h 37 m
Screen off time 9 h 23 m

No top ups.

My point is 45W is slow compared to the competition that charge equal or larger batteries quicker and they cost less too. It will be too late anyway because Samsung;s move to solid state negates the need for 100W charging anyway.

It's clear they knew the roadmap and just didn't bother with fast charging as they work to R&D for solid state cells.

I'm pretty sure S26 onwards will be the turn for solid state batteries, fast charging won't be needed in the standard way as solid state cells can charge to max in minutes and retain a much longer charge overall. Samsung has been working on them since 2012 and various news coming out last few months points to 2026 onwards being the first round of products using them.

Yeah... No. News coming to light now...

Made sense they'd bring out silicon carbon batteries out way before any solid state experiment.

Improved batteries, and Exynos chipset.
One step forward, two steps back.

100W charging, yeah I seriously doubt Samsung will go above 65 watts for those, given that current batteries charge up to 120W on even mid range Redmi phones like my Note 14 Pro+

Until it's actually put through it's paces and tested I'll reserve judgement on Exynos.
If it is superior or equal to whatever the snapdragon offering is  and Samsung puts it in all the S26 series worldwide then I'll be happy with it.
But they've stung me before, and Im tired of paying the same for less when it comes to Exynos.

It's a long time since Exynos was on par or better than the snapdragon but as you say as long as everyone gets the same then it's fair.

I'm not loving the screen on the 25 ultra to be honest. It's sharp and smooth when scrolling but the colours are very washed out compared to my s22 ultra. Ive tried tuning up the vividness but then the colours just look off, a bit like a telly with the contrast setting set too high.

I would say the same for Samsung silicon carbon batteries

At this point, I'm not sure they really need beyond 45w for battery and charge speed.

they only got my phone yesterday.
It took 6 days from them receiving mine before it was completed.
could be the same for us.

I think it's about damn time they did having had a 120W charging phone for a bit now and seeing it go from empty to full (5110mAh) in under 30 mins is quite something vs the 1hr+ it takes Samsung's to charge to full.

Only had mine since last Thursday upgrading from the S24U; got it all setup before heading off to York for a weekend and its been brilliant; seems snappier than the S24U, battery seems better to me and the screen too seems improved.
I don't take many "motion" shots but the low light stuff I've taken seems better than the S24U; overall pretty happy; like the new shape and also feels really nice in the Spigen case I bought!
Trade in was sent back today.
