Yep but the raw power of the CPUs should be enough for software decoding of 720p mkv?

It is however a pretty big mistake by nvidia, considering that even the year old Hummingbird can do 1080p mkv flawlessly.

I'm not sure if the Tegra2 cpu can even decode 720p mkv. I have the LG Optimus 2X and that won't even play it on Rockplayer (at all).

Samsung has a great codec/media team, I'm sure they will offer mkv 720p/1080p support (main profile only)

No NEON hardware on Tegra 2 so the A9s would really struggle to decode HD vids, nVidia chose the cheaper non-vector floating point unit instead. Doh!

The one in the FCC application is wifi only. I am sure we will see it in Europe, but probably after Samsung have sold out the 10.1v.

It’s gone very quiet from Samsung but they are having a mobile event on May 24th in New York so we may get the launch then.
