Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Honeycomb Tablet

I am really interested in tablets as I would like a more portable version of the Asus Eeepc netbook I have at the moment. I love the idea of having a more portable device to watch movies etc. Now the Asus Eee Pad Transformer looks like the perfect solution to what I want from a tablet. But I am a little unsure of whether the OS would do what I can on my netbook.

I use the netbook to do online banking and love the ethernet port for security and guess I would have to sacrifice this and go wi-fi?

I also have a NAS which has my films on which i would want to stream to the tablet and then also hook up the tablet to my TV to watch the films on the tv using the tablet to stream them from the NAS to the TV, is this possible?

If it can hook up to the NAS like my netbook then I would happily swap.

i really want to dump the ipad for an android tablet for some flash goodness.

I need the gaming to get better. When me and the lads go on our long football away trips you cant beat a bit of Worms 2 in the car, pass along the ipad for evreyones turn.

This looks much nicer than the old smaller Tab.

I do like the iPad though, the Android tablets never feel quite as nice to use :(

Just the current Tab, while it is nice and portable, its not as nice and portable as a phone and its too small to be as nice to use as the iPad imo.

I also dont think Android holds up quite as well as iOS at the moment on tablets. I'm sure that will change though.

I actually saw a guy walking through London with a 7' Tab to his ear, looked a bit daft but at least it has phone capabilities! :p

Honeycomb with its multitasking raises the game for Android and will be a far more polished OS than the current versions which are not designed for tablets.

That bloke must have looked like a right plonker, he probably thought he was buying a phone. :D

Aye, he was getting on a bit though so maybe he thought 'Oh, this looks nice at least I'll be able to see the buttons on the screen...' :p

If this had a USB port it could be a winner, but it will suffer from the same shortcoming that the iPad does - you have to use a cable to sync stuff to it so why not just use a laptop. Shame!

Also, two cameras. Does android have any mainstream video apps yet?

I am a bit annoyed about the lack of USB, but the worse case scenario I can sync over wireless.

Google Talk has the video chat option I believe :)

Why not just buy another more or less identical device, they are all tegra 2nd and honeycomb and there litterally hundreads to choose from. So if you want usb hdmi then get one with it.

Are you sure about that? There is no normal earpiece speaker on the Tab so you can't use it like a normal phone. It has a loudspeaker, but no one would hear you talking back if you put that to your ear - I've tried it when someone called me while I was testing with my normal voice SIM. You have to put it down on the desk in order to use it without a headset.
