Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Honeycomb Tablet

That's more like it :)

That the screen brightness and contrast isn't as good as expected and that it is pretty much useless in bright sunshine.

Also people are comparing it to the iPad and saying that its seen is still better, even though it is a year old, and that they would have expected the Xoom to have an equal or better screen for the price tag.

The Xoom hasn't got a bad screen (like the Vega or most netbooks) it's just not quite as good as the iPads, which is still fairly useless in direct light. LCD technology hasn't moved for a few years now, seems everyone's off developing OLED/E-Ink/3D now. :D

I should have mentioned that that is the WiFi Only version, and Engadget have reported that it has now been pulled from the site.

I don't get why people are comparing these tablets to the original iPad... of course they would seem better than the iPad because they are a whole year newer. The better comparison in terms of hardware, software and price would be with the iPad 2 which will be their market contenders.

Apple seem to be at a good price point and specs compared to android, but until we here what ios5 will be, software is still lacking.

Can't see anything wrong with it... they were probably just hoping to sell it for lots of $$$$ (like the failed attempt to shift 7" tab @ £600)

I hope it actually sees the light of day. :D

Haha! Yeah, I actually want to see it out... what is the point in announcing it in January if you aren't going to deliver till April/May... people will get bored of waiting and get the Xoom or the iPad 2.

The reason I am waiting for the Tab is because it is both thinner and lighter than the Xoom, and by the time it comes out Honeycomb will be more established with a greater number of applications.

The 10.1 is 599 grams, so 219 heavier than the Tab and 131 less than the XOOM. For me that is quite a difference and that difference is a wee bit more than the weight of my Nexus S.
