I think it should fall within that.

Bit of an update in terms of the video.

Seems it can do fairly decent quality mkvs with hardware support - just certain things the Tegra2 struggles with.

One thing that I saw on XDA - and followed up - has me using ArcSoft Media Converter using the xbox 360 profile with simply higher quality.

Seeing as I have an i7-2600 cpu, the transcodes are rather fast. Faster when compared to using Handbrake for the transcodes.
Only problem is that the ArcSoft app is payware. $40. But on the plus side I can now play the files produced by this app and play the 720p stuff via the stock media player which is rather nice. And quite a bit less of faffing about.
 
What cases are all you Tab users using?

Im hopefully gonna get a tab tonight/this weekend, and was hoping to find a case similar to my ipad one, but cant see any like it anywhere...
 
I use the official book cover case thing, but I do find that it increases the weight of the tab a fair bit. So when at home reading something whilst on the bed, I tend to remove the the case. Much more pleasant to hold then :)

I found the same. It now lives in the keyboard dock and the case is only used when it is on its travels.
 
10.1 16Gb is avaliable with the Purple shirts, you won't regret it, unless your apple ipad apps are most important to you. I use mine everyday for commuting and when relaxing at home. I really wonder why i needed to switch my laptop on everyday :)

Not really fussed about apple apps hardly ever used them !! only used youtube and safari !

I want the 32gb 3g version !

Question about apps...my regularly used apps on my iPad are:

BBC News.
Engadget.
LogMeIn.
RDP Mocha.

Ive found tablet versions of LogMeIn, and from what i can tell, Wyse will do my RDPs for me, what about the other two?

Hows the general landscape for tablet apps in general? Obviously it wont be as good as the iPads, but thats not exactely stunning either...

Also, do we know if IceCreamSandwich will definatelly be ported to the 10.1 when its out? As i dont really want to buy now and find that in 3-6 months time i cant migrate to it...

Why would you need apps for Engadget and BBC News just out of interest? I understand the need for it on a phone where web pages aren't optimized and apps are generally faster, but on a full size web browsing device such as the Tab, why not just go to the actual full site?
