Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 Tablet

Ok we've ordered a 7.7 3g from the afore mentioned *******, based on the avf research, thanks for the heads up, I'll keep the thread up to date on the progress of the order and the outcome, I got a Ultra microSDHC UHS 16gb, a screen cover and a warrenty all for £420, by far and away the biggest purchase so far in my sons life.

How long till delivery?

How long till delivery?

Got gf to use her paypal for security so coms go to her email and last time she checked on her galaxy apollo they hadn't sent shipping info but had sent a 2nd more detailed acceptance of order and payment. Going by the experience on the other forum I expect del Wed to Fri, fingers officially crossed and various wooden things touched.

Will you be using it too then? - the screen is stunning.

Yup, he's ten so setting up will fall to me and I won't let it go to their house until it's got its covers and some accidental damage insurance, so I guess a week at mine, I'll play while I get him some good apps.

rang gf earlier and no shipping mail yet and she's gone for a laser treatment she got off Groupon so I won't hear anymore news till mid afternoon at best, The whole purchase came about because of my plan to sell him my Note so I could potentially buy an S3 if it lives up to the hype, during the discussion it became me half funding a 7.7 purchase with my eldest penciled in as a buyer for the Note, lol, I was played by a couple of grifters!

If it was just me I think the Note is superior to most combinations of phone and tab

Ok gf has had a shipping email and when I log into my account on their site it says complete, they say 2/3 work days so I'm thinking Thur/Fri.

Re case I've done some research and can't find my dream case of silicone with a semi rigid flap screen cover that doubles as a prop to hold it up for browsing so I'll get a leather one of the same capabilities, I've seen them priced from £80 to £15, I like the StilGut one for e29, if anyone knows of a silicone cover with a screen flap a link would be much much appreciated!

PS silicone super case to fit either Note or 7.7, thanks in advance.

Yup, but in silicone preferably, the StilGut one has a bend in the cover that forms an angle for propping up when open, I really like silicone covers they're slim line, they grip onto surfaces and pockets, have drop absorption capacity and are shower proof but by and large they don't have a silicone screen cover in book format that doubles as a prop, that is my ideal cover a silicone version of the one u posted, unless that is silicone and you have become my poster of the day!

Has anyone tried the HDTV adapter on a 7.7 tab??

I'm looking for an alternative to carting my WDTV Live on holiday and if the adapter for the 10.1 tab works, I can just take my 7.7 and feed the TV through a regular HDMI cable and the adapter!

Thanks.....

Ok, got my tracking No off gf and at 18.20 the package left Chek Lap Kok, Hong Kong for its European entry point, expected to arrive at mine by end of day Thur.

If the 7.7 arrives with no probs it would appear that ******* is a very efficient and honest supplier, one which I will check out again specifically with the SGS3 in mind as they do the Note delivered for £366 :D

What's the warranty like - do you have to send it back to HK if it becomes faulty?

Afaik it's a replacement warranty, cost £12, and they have a UK address to send stuff to, there's a decent thread on 7.7s on another forum, avf, linked to earlier in this thread it's the one I responded to and I decided to buy the 7.7 and get the warranty after reading the said thread.

It's been scanned into Tamworth depo at 5.44 so well on its way, I'l be surprised if it hasn't actually left Tamworth being as how it was there early enough to also leave on the truck at 7/8, just touched wood.

Okaaay, it's here sitting by me on the sofa still in its packing, I feel quite odd, gona open it but want to put my sons sim in before I turn it on and will have to wait till he gets back from school and dash over theirs to get his Ace, I'll also get over to avf and read up on the box opening procedure some folk had issues iirc from not doing stuff in the correct order.

I'm BMTO :D:D:D:D

StevieP - How are you getting on with your 7.7?

I'm really liking it - had a couple of issues with finding a media player that would handle streaming all of my video files from my NAS but finally settled with Diceplayer - although nothing seems to support .mts files which is what my camcorder records in - but hey, you can't have everything! :D

Now I'm just looking at getting a few accessories - got my eye on a 32GB SanDisk Micro Ultra SD card (class 6, I assume this will be OK for the tab?) along with the HDMI Adapter (read on another forum that it does work with the 7.7) and a case - although I'm unsure as to whether to spend £8 on one off ebay or spend a bit more on one of the plush looking "Stilgut" ones at £35!?!?

Overall though, it's spot on!

Nice one - why do you have to put the sim in first - should make no difference.

Lol it was just a little mental note I'd made while reading the other forum,. when I reread it I realised it was just an "insert sim" message on screen and a misremembered sim insertion issue.

So my son couldn't find his Ace and from his **** efforts in the "search" I reckon he's lost it outside and doesn't wanna tel, lol, the heart pounding tension he must be under trying to play it just right, James Bond.

Anyway I put the **** o2 sim I got with my Note in and powered up changed the lingo and had a little play, great quality item, if i had a lesser phone I might be tempted to run it as a BT phone from a pocket or bag, as it is I have a Note so at the mo I'm not that tempted though I haven't watched a movie or read a book/comic on public transport.

Great genuine working item swiftly dispatched by a imho quality merchant for about £70 less than an equivalent UK web seller or up to £150 from a high st concern. I'm a very very happy customer of *******:D:D:D
