Holy **** its massive! The stand is brilliant, really smooth and looks better that what I have seen in pictures.
So turning it on for the first time and as expected, its an ugly picture, my eyes are hurting its so bright. I'm just about to format and have a fresh install as i've also changed gfx cards, i've read some people have had issues with old drivers causing problems so I might aswell, dosent take long. I purchased a calibrator from ebay 2nd hand so I can set it up proper. Cant wait.
I'm coming from a Dell U2713HM, that was big but not a patch on this beast!

Yeah it's set ridiculously over bright at stock. Have mine set to 23 unless it's a really bright day in which case I set it to 30-35.

Which calibrator have you purchased?

I managed to get a Spyder 3 pro off fleabay for £20 a few months ago, worked with Windows 8.1 no problems and makes a huge difference. Obviously not as good as more modern ones but worth keeping an eye out for. Still trying to decide if I want this monitor though

I purchased a spyder 4 pro from ebay.
I've used the calibrator but it kicked out horrible settings, i'm now using the profile from the guys here and its much more comfortable. I need to read up a bit more, make sure i'm doing it right because the settings it gave me, i'm clearly doing something wrong!
With the settings shared here, its amazing. Really happy with it. I'm sure it will get better the more it beds in. Still chuckling to myself as to how big it is, cant get over it!

Dont use the included software is horrible. Read up on dispcalguy and Argyll calibration. and they are free and far better than spyder software

Got the spyder4 working properly now, the monitor is looking spot on. Films look absolutely amazing. Now just waiting for some games to download to try them out.

Just came across this thread and monitor! Looks amazing
Can I ask what's it like for gaming? And for those who have tried G sync what's it like without? As I'm really impressed with G-sync.
Seriously considering this monitor for the likes of GTA V, witcher, skyrim and the new fallout!
I've got a swift which I'll keep for fps games.
Would just like a little feedback.

never tried gsync or freesync but gaming at 3440x1440 is awesome, playing gta v and wolfenstien old blood at the mo and these games look the biz at 21.9

I can't comment in terms of comparing to a gsync monitor but compared to my old 27" 1440p, this is so much better. So far I've played Project Cars and Evolve, absolutely amazing. I was sucked in to Evolve, not just by the resolution but the curve as well, it's subtle but really effective. I use to play project cars on a three screen setup, this has the same effect without the huge hardware setup, so much better.
In either game, I don't experience tearing or stutter. I'm using a 970.

I tried both 27" asus swift and acer 144p gsync both failed due to dirt ,dead pixel on the screen and i am fed up.Now I am thinking of this Samsung S34E790C to be problem free .Do you think its a good choice?I mainly play gta v and assasins creed type games.Also whats the chance to get a monitor with ghosting and red tint issue?Thanks

Same here i tried the ROG SWIFT and on top of the insane color shift and idiotic choice of coating it had a dead pixel. Also i had already been gaming on a slow 21:9 29" and i just couldnt go back 16:9.. So here i am ...3440x1440 Dell Ultrasharp and while it has its faults for sure im pretty darn happy. The sammy seems like a pretty good choice for gamers who want to game at this resolution. To bad these monitors are so expensive

no ghosting issues here and i dont have any red tint problems, i guess if you get one and it has red tint then send it back. i think if i was buying again the samsung would still be my first choice but the dell looks pretty good and is a fair bit cheaper, not played assasins creed but gta v looks great at 3440x1440

No Ghosting with the monitors response set to standard. Don't get why they included faster and fastest modes when all it does is introduce all sorts of issues.

Red tint, as OldGamer said, of you get one that you feel isn't up to scratch send it back.

GTA V looks amazing, honestly it's just awesome. Requires a very good gpu setup to do it justice though.

Price wise, it's a good deal more than the Dell but hey, most of us who have the Samsung I believe are happy with their purchase.

Thanks a lot to both of you.So i either decide this samsung ,Dell U3415W or will it worth the wait 1-2 months for the upcoming Acer Predator XR341CK 34" ?btw my cards are sli strix 980
