Samsung LS34E790C - Curved 34" 21:9 super-wide

Just got one of these yesterday, and so far very happy with it. This comes from someone who has previously returned no less than THREE of the IPS models from Dell/LG, due to terrible backlight bleed.

Happy to finally have a new monitor, that doesnt feel like a compromise, and a nice upgrade from 27" 1920/1080!

Does anyone else seem to get more eye fatigue with this screen than other screens?

I didn't really get any on the IPS screens I had and I don't with my HDTV but when I look at this screen after a while it starts to hurt my eyes.

I did and one of the reasons i returned mine. Less than 10 mins use and my eyes were killing me. Maybe i need an eye test for that screen but with my current 24" and 27" ips i have no issues what so ever. o.O

Hmm yeah I seem to be the same. No problem with the IPS panels I had but with this one my eyes start hurting after a short time

Really liking this monitor apart from the slight red tinge on the lower half of the screen.

I take it that it's a fault or does calibration sort it?

Sorry if this has been asked b4.

matson does text look any better if you put it in cinema mode as i noticed this sharpend up a lot of things

Looks the same for me...plus I lose calibration if I do that. I think its just the type of panel that's effecting me. I never had this with my TN and IPS monitors.

Some of these have a red tint to them. Some worse than others.
My First one went back because it had a really bad red tint on both sides of the screen. This one I have now is perfect and has no red tint at all. Its just luck really what you end up with. You can dial some of it out with calibration though but some panels will be good some not so good.

It's not too bad, problem is I keep looking for it now :(

Thanks for the reply :)

My screen(s) all had a red tint on the left side. Its annoying when I'm doing work on white backgrounds where it's easily noticeable. I've been through a number of these and in the end I gave up and just kept the last one.

The one monitor which didn't have this problem had a dead pixel... All in all quite demoralising really. Other than this though the monitor is seriously good, hence why I'm willing to live with this nuisance.

Really enjoying the monitor apart from the red tinge :(

Colours are better, though it does suffer from slight colour shift.

Motion wise more than happy with that, although not as good as the Swift.

Lag for me is difficult to judge as I'm old and slow.

Suffice to say I'll be off loading the Swift :)

How this helps - probably won't though :D

Thanks! hehe, no matter what you say, I will still probably be as indecisive as ever :D It is good to hear people's thoughts on how this compares to different monitors though.

Torn between this and the asus IPS freesync screen. From what I have read, supposedly the input lag is quite a bit lower on the Samsung compared to the IPS 21.9 screens as well as motion clarity being better overall, although I can't say that the input lag on my 29um65 affects me at all, just the motion clarity that really bothers me now.

I just wish this screen had freesync and was £100 cheaper.

Yeah that puts me of big time too although I can see myself keeping my 290 for at least another 1-2 years.

I do think nvidia will support adaptive sync at some point though....
