The only thing that we seem to be waiting for with these monitors is for them to run above 60Hz... that's the only thing holding me back tbh. Other than that, VA currently seems to be a winner over IPS what with all the glow/bleed issues they have. There are a few monitors in the pipeline that are supposedly using faster IPS panels though, so if they can sort the glow/bleed issues on those, they MIGHT be worth waiting for. I think it will be an interesting year ahead for monitors. :)

Shop some where else and you will find it cheaper, just look hard! 799.98

I know where that is available, but I do get free NWD delivery from OcUK, so there's not a lot in it after that.

I'd like to see if it comes down to the £750 mark, somehow that seems more acceptable when compared to the non-ultra wide offerings.

Hey guys, monitor came today and it is looking like I'm going to have to RMA it :'(

There's a weird banding that spans the entire screen in one specific area. I was under the impression it was due to the Intel HD 4600 I'm currently using, but just tried the Xbox One and it's doing it there as well -_-

Other than that the screen is absolutely fantastic

Sorry for the crappy quality

sorry to see that. Definatly needs to go back. These days its the luck of the draw if you get a perfect monitor it seems or in this case a fully working one lol.

just ordered mine today, is the display port cabled supplied ok with the monitor/have problems etc ?

nice upgrade from my benq 120 hz

Been wanting to jump to a larger screen for a while and my itchy fingers can't take it no longer. Just placed an order for this monitor - hopefully get my hands on it tomorrow!

How are you finding the samsung Adam? Like you I had the LG..4 of them infact lol and waiting for my refund at the moment. Considering going for this one just trying to decide if I would be bothered by the curve.

All these "horror stories" about people receiving new monitors from various brands with issues like this really makes me wary and confused about upgrading, as someone who has not returned goods bought online for many years (and that experience with another company was rather prolonged and stressful).

thanks at last what you choice lg or Samsung if lg was without backlight bleed at all?
I would say unless you're doing lots of sensitive graphics/photography/DTP/CAD style work, in which case a flat screen is preferable anyway, the Samsung wins out due to the lack of bleed/glow that seems rife with the LG IPS screens. Better blacks also. Alternatively, just wait and see what other monitors are upcoming, as there have been some interesting models announced... the Acer Predator XR341CK for one.

As someone that hopes his rig will cope with the full resolution of this montior for most things, could you try taking a piccy of running a game at non-ultra wide 1440P to see what it looks like? Are there any odd scaling artifacts, etc? Effectively it should be like a 27" 1440P monitor with a slight curve...?

It'll indeed be like a 27" 1440p with black bars on the sides, which, in case of the Samsung, should not be very visible/distracting. Of course same goes for the 16:9 videos and other content.

Scroll back to page 5 - I have posted a review and pictures. havnt touched it since last night as I'm at work, paying for it! ;)

Staying higher and going higher. The margin we had was single digits which is not high enough to make an actual profit based on our overheads. Those who pre-ordered got a great deal. :)

Only if Samsung reduce my buy price will we go that low again.

I see Samsung lowered price already
