There has been a bit of a buzz around here at Overclockers UK HQ today, the team from Samsung are with us today letting us demo their brand new 3D monitors... Here are some sneaky peeks!

I must say personally that they are absolutely fantastic products, I particularly love the designs of the monitors, but not only that the way the 3D works, because it is monitor based 3D, this means what ever you put through the monitor, a film, game, applications it becomes 3D, so no need for 3D compatible equipment.

Cool. Love the 'speech bubble' style of the S27A950D. And monitor based 3d - that's pretty awesome. If I'd known these were coming, I probably would have held off buying my BENQ!
Guess I'll have to start buttering up the missus again.

Look forward to a review.

Monitor based? Meaning you still need the goggles, but you aren't limited to Nvidia cards? How does it compare with the Nvidia stuff, as I assume this is ideal for AMD card users?

look very nich monitor but the one that has the arm to the right side of mount is no tbh .

should have just kept the arm simple . a lot will be put off by that arm design even though the actual monitor is great

You do still need glasses, but the 3D is hardware based, not software/driver based like the Nvidia. This means the 3D works perfectly with every game and app possible.

That is right, the monitor sorts it all out, so you just put a Blu-Ray disc in your PS3 plug it into the monitor, pop on the glasses and wow! :D

It is really fantastic, and I am not just saying this as a sales pitch, I am sure if any customers here have one will tell you also how awesome they are. :)

It's a shame people who already wear glasses/goggles will experience difficulties with 3D, especially at its current stage where you have to wear more goggles...

Very good looking monitors though. Would they work in 3D in dual monitor mode too?

I wear glasses, but the Samsung glasses with these monitors fit very easily over/in front of my own glasses. They are very light, and once I was playing the games, I didn't notice I had them on. I saw the 3D effect just fine. It's very immersive. Having seen 3D Vision before also, depth with either system is great. What I was most impressed with in the Gran Turismo 5 demo was the depth you got from hills in the track.

But it works great with/over my glasses, so don't worry about that. Glass eyes would be a different story mind ;-)

Damn, these really sound awesome! Out of interest, what's the difference between the A750 and the A950? The fancier stand can't be worth £70 alone, can it? :o

I believe the difference is that the A950 has Smart Hub built in but the A750 doesn't - I will try and find out for sure though as I could be wrong!
