Sapphire AMD Deals

@LtMatt Ok, so on top of my earlier sound issues, I've just tried firing up RDR2 on my TV to test and I'm getting a lot of artifacts (like the white/magenta snow sort)....
I've checked the HDMI cable I'm using and the listing said it is rated for 18gbps - Is this likely to be the cause of the issues?
I could deal with the idea of running the audio over SPDIF, but if I can't play games on the TV then there's very little point in me keeping the card :(

(edit: I played ARK for a bit on my other monitor and it seemed fine, so I don't think the card in itself is broken)
I'm playing RDR2 right now and I don't see any artifacts. Are you running native or using FSR?

That seems like a cable fault. I've had this on both AMD and Nvidia with a faulty HDMI cable.

It could be, although the same cable was fine on my 3060ti at 4k60. Even sat here on desktop/browser I can see my AV receiver is flickering as if it's losing signal (although picture is fine).

If I buy one at a certain well known online place, is buying one that is described as higher gbps (e.g. 48) likely to improve things?

That was native 4k, it did seem like theartifacts got worse as I increased various settings (starting from what I was previously running on my 3060ti minus DLSS)
I'm using a certified HDMI 2.1 cable with 48GBs of bandwidth.

Here is Red Dead Redemption at 4K maximum settings, but MSAA off.

There are no sparkling artifacts.

GPU arrived, installed and working great, surprisingly quiet until you really crank up the settings in Cyberpunk at 1440p RT High the fan was audible but to offset that I just cranked up the speakers :)

Benchmark had me pegged at 60fps which I am more than happy with. D4 at Ultra 1440p is basically monitor cap of 144fps.

Is yours the XT or XTX?

Try underclocking and setting a negative power limit in the AMD performance settings. If your GPU is actually faulty underclocking will remove any artifacts due to VRAM for example. Another thing to try is playing at a lower resolution to reduce GPU usage. That will both reduce GPU overhead and bandwidth requirements.

What you describe sounds like the more settings and VRAM you tell the games to use, the more you hit the bandwidth limit of your HDMI cable.

Thank you both, fired up rdr2 again with the intention of grabbing a screenshot to see if it was visible in that, but it's now running fine for the last 20 mins, with the added bonus of sound behaving itself too.
I'll see how I get on and maybe try chrome instead of ff to see if the sound issie is still present.
If I have any more issues I'll try a higher rated cable before I resort back to throwing my toys out of the pram :D

Yeah, you don’t buy a Ferrari and run it on cod liver oil dude. Get a proper HDMI 2.1 cable.

Tbh I think the artifacts may have just been because I changed settings - as I said it was fine once I restarted the game.
But I have now ordered a higher rated cable which should be here tomorrow, if nothing else then at least it will hopefully rule that out as a factor (assuming the 'rated' bandwidth is accurate!).

If that doesn't solve the sound issue then I'll get an optical audio cable and run sound from my motherboard instead, should hopefully sort it :)

Thanks all for your help regarding cables, hopefully the £15 amazon one I just bought will do the trick, I'll confirm tomorrow :)

To claim Starfield, there should be an item listed on your invoice as 'AMD - Starfield Radeon Game Bundle' which has a barcode printed under it, just enter the code under the barcode on the AMD rewards website (just done mine and it has redeemed successfully!)
