Sapphire GTO² available exclusively from OcUK and Modding instrutions inside.....

Its a bew build everything is new except the PSU.

I have the new ATI X800 GTO2, i connected it to my hdd power lead and then pluged in a psu 4 pin thing conntor (which is said to do on the graphics card anti static bag). The fan on the card spins, the memory lights come on normal, the hdd spins, the cpu fan spins. I just cant see anything on screen, i dont hear anything from the mobo speaker, also i cant turn it off with the case button, i think its hanging.

I have the Following Spec:

AMD Athlon 64 3800 32/64Bit CPU S939
ASUS A8N-Sli Prem
ATI X800 GTO2
Vantec 420A PSU
1 Gb (2 x 512Mb) Corsair TwinX, DDR, PC3200C2PRO
250Gb Western Digital WD2500JS Caviar SE (7200rpm,8Mb) - SATA II
19" Hyundai ImageQuest B90A TFT Monitor - Silver/Black 8ms 1280x1024

Did a bit of surfing found that ...

h**p://www.techpowerup.com/articles//overclocking/vidcard/127/1

This is page dedicated to the moding of the gto2 to x850 xt pe, i tried the bios on there site and it had the reverse effects ! I could see the bios but windows the screen was blank ( but on )!

Holy spaghetti.
That is a lot of cables going around in your box.

I'm going for a very similar setup to you when I get all my parts delivered next week.
Only getting a 3700 processor and Seagate drive instead.
Same Mobo, even tho I wont be using SLI

Cheets,

What are the rails like on that PSU?

Only other thing I can think of.

Try installing bare minimum mb, cpu, ram, gcard and bootnig to see if you can get to bios.

regards,

Matt

Could very well be your PSU mate!! Or it could be a faulty Mobo?

Can anybody tell us what comes in the box with the GTO2?
I know it says OEM on the site, but on other sites it said something about a game disk where you can play about 8 titles for an hour and then activate one fully. That was for the retail version that was aimed to sell for £150.

But, That review was prerelease by a few weeks, so things have likely changed. I havent seen a non OEM version anywhere in the UK (not looked abroad) so I dont think that there's any other packages going to be made available.

Are the ram modules in the correct slots for two modules? Check the manual for confirmation and if you are unsure remove one of them. I had a similar type problem with two modules not in the right slots.

OEm = bare minimum, you don't get any goodies...

wrong!! u get the card, driver cd and case badge,4pin molex to 6 pin pci-e adaptor cable, composite tv out cable,dvi-dsub adaptor plug,2x tv out extension cables, and a female composite adaptor no box though but you get everything you would get in a retail box except no free games etc,etc which no one plays anyway :p

Cheets,

Hopefully the PSU will sort out the probs, when assembling with new psu double check all connectors on MB are correct, also that RAM is in correct slots.

Good luck,am off to do a bit of work but will check back later and hope to see the GTO2 working!

Regards,

Matt

For anyone who has this card.....DO NOT USE the link at the beggining of this thread to flash your card.....you WILL get a blank screen on reboot if you do !!

Use the instructions from Techpowerup......they work fine.

Yeah well I'd use them over the limited instructions that OcUK provided anyways, but thanks for the heads up.
