SAPPHIRE RX 480 NITRO NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER AT OVERCLOCKERS UK (WORLD FIRST) !!!

I think the rumor of 1500-1600 was coming from a Powercolor card as well

Perhaps one like this...

One thing I do know and trust is when Sapphire make a card they do it right I have enough to buy the 1070 but as Raja said "hardware is less than half the issue" so that would lead to the coding and seeing as AMD are working with Microsoft it's a bit of a "no brainer" for me personally
Yea, no idea what you're even talking about now.

Being an Owner of a 4GB R9 290X Vapor X I can honestly say say that the my current card aged well. You have only got to look at the hate reference 290X's got because of their heat issues 95C my Vapor X never goes over 76C and thats with a hefty overclock while benching it :)

Sapphire only make AMD cards and they are very good at making them they just get it right and they are still perfecting the RX480 Nitro as we speak ;)

Absolutely no sense at all in going to these from a 290.

We do not live in a sensible world... :D

Starting to think 1350-1400 Mhz is perhaps more likely in what these may manage. So would seeing performance of anything from around 5-10 fps (sometimes less/more) over the reference cards be reasonable? Yet maintaining lower temps and reduced potential for throttling.

Just hoping these cards turn up sooner rather than later. I've got about 5 years of PC gaming to catch up on.

Witcher 3 has been calling me for months but I didn't want to buy it for the PS4.

My R9 290 Tri-X died after having it for 3 years and I only game at 1080p with max settings, is this card for me or should I wait for the X, 490 or something else?

Depends what you call max settings I suppose

If you want lots of aa, hairworks and post processing at 60fps probably not but I can't imagine you had that with your 290

Ordered!

@hrl - it's worth the wait; without hairworks and you might have to put foliage visibility on high instead of ultra you should get 60fps with this card

Shame. I was hoping for Ultra @ 1080, minus Hairworks. I'm sure it'll be great anyway, but we shall see.

Welcome back to the fold, you won't regret it. I made a similar transition a few years ago with my first customer built PC in about 10 years and have been loving every minute of it, including the occasional upgrades out of want rather than need.

I'm looking forward to trying the 480 Nitro, looks like a very capable card and a great experience.

Let us know how you get on and welcome to the OCUK forum...great bunch of people with just the right mix of crazy ;)

Just put my money down from one of these, I almost bought the reference, but the lack of OC and poor cooling put me off.

I'm coming from a GTX960 so I think I would have been happy with reference but I'm ok for paying a bit more for the added icing on top. Looking forward to getting BF1 Dx12 running on this thing soon.

Any clues when reviews for any AIB cards are likely to show up?
I'd be happy with a consistent 1400mhz which seems very plausible. This is the first card I would ever call "good looking" so I think i'll be happy when it comes.
