SAPPHIRE RX 480 NITRO NOW AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER AT OVERCLOCKERS UK (WORLD FIRST) !!!

Strange numbers in performance summary of TPU.

But I'm really concerned how he only managed a 3% overclock on that custom card to 1355Mhz only. WTH?

How is any card going to get near 1400Mhz with two fans I don't know.

So what do you mean by that?

Presumably W1zzard is using Wattman for this measly overclock?

The card was stuck on default voltages - computerbase.de got 1370MHZ on stock voltage and TPU got 1355MHZ but computerbase.de also tested the card in the different modes,so I expect the OC modes sustain boost better.

But this is nothing new for AMD cards - quite a few previous launches have this issue with the OC tools being underdeveloped for new cards.

Are they overclocking the ram? since that german website overclocking the ram to 2300mhz gained a lot of performance, up to 10% in some cases. And that was leaving the core at stock.

I dunno man you shouldn't have to increase voltages just to get performance faster than a 980 or closer to 1060, which is the same price.

So now it has gone from cooling that's holding back OC to power (6-pin) holding back OC and now to voltages holding back OC.

Maybe Polaris just doesn't OC well on air at all. All evidence points to that.

Uhmmm... This is going overboard now, do these guys really make new accounts just to bash on the cards? Joined July, 8 posts, all bashing 480 in one thread. WOW.

You gotta be kidding me. Talk about jumping to conclusions fella.

The Nitro 480 is my most anticipated card. It's the one I want to get over any 1060 without any doubt.

I want it to be able to overclock to more than 1370mhz though. That would seal the deal for me and I'll put in a pre-order.

Nvidiots are worse than apple fanboys :p

Me?

Hello,

Specifically I am interested in pre-ordering a Sapphire RX 480 Nitro. But I have never done this before.

How does it work? When will I be charged, can I cancel, and when will the item be delivered?

It would be helpful for everyone to know in general how your pre-orders work.

Thanks

You both appear very childish right now. Why would I ask about how to pre-order a 480 Nitro a couple weeks back if I was a....

Lol not even worth responding to some posters

I would expect 1400 OC on air from these. Better designed board and decent cooling.

I did see that site, and that was a pretty interesting result. 9200Mhz up from 8000mhz is quite a jump. Luck, or volts....

That was my thought as well, but still... 20% overall seems high. I will happily say I am wrong of course...
