Satisfactory Alpha release

Ah thanks. I'll keep cracking on. Power is also a constant pain, I keep rubbing out then struggle to reset the fuses. Just unlocked coal power but the coal deposit is miles away so need to figure out how I get the coal across. Looking like one gargantuan belt for now
Use the coal on the east of desert for power, coal and water are on tap as it's along the coast

Run power polls out there, can scale up on site easier too

So I've just started playing, completed the first set of smart plates for the space elevator. Next it's asking for 1000 smart plates! Is there a quick way to produce these?

Just set something up so it'll trundle away in the background. Use the time to unlock other stuff, go exploring, and build random projects. Satisfactory is at least as much a game about those side quests as it is a game about pursuing that goal IMO.

Honestly I'm absolutely loving it tbh. It's a great game

I have had a nasty bout of Bronchitis since it left Early Access and it has been the perfect "not well enough to work, not ill enough to just lie in bed" game for me. But now I'm almost better and I need to go back to work :(

I've basically "completed" the game and done all the space elevator objectives, unlocked all the research etc. But now I've been going back and making nice factories to produce different components to eventually replace and demolish my absolute car crash that is my "main" factory.

Just done full scale factories for steel beams, steel pipes and alclad aluminium sheets.

The dimensional depots are a bit of a game changer in this main release, no longer do you need to build a "central storage facility" like I've got near my main factory that sorts various input lines and filters them into neat storage containers, you just have separate factories for each type of component and use the dim depot, so much easier.

Got plenty of power now and my next project is a factory dedicated to heavy modular frames, then I guess I'll have to deal with the legacy nuclear waste I've been steadily accumulating in the corner of the map! haha!

Its quite nice having unlocked everything to just be able to potter about and tweak bits here and there then start new factories and think through the production puzzles. I'm not one for creating a spreadsheet to tweak it all so its perfectly efficient, I get it more or less there but life is too short to be perfecting all that nonsense!

do peple think the dimensional depots are O.P.?
generally curious to peoples responce?
I dont feel they are OP as even at max they only hold 5 stacks of something, what they do REALLY help with though is not having to traipse back to a base to pick up more concrete or other materials when you are building new structures, which imo is a good QoL feature.

OP? No, but they do make the game much more pleasant to play once you've invested the time in getting enough of them set up. Really all they're doing is make forgetting some material or another less punishing. You do need quite a few upgrades before they remove the need to think about and stock up on basic materials.

Made a circuit board factory tonight pumping out 250 circuit boards per minute, pretty pleased with it. Its the first step into making a big computer factory. Been enjoying replacing all my old terrible skip fire factory parts with nice clean purpose built factories. They aren't perfectly efficient, haven't got the time or inclination to mess about with all that, just turn it all up to 11, but they do the job.

Am enjoying pottering about with this game now.

Completed the final phase, was nice to see the whole ending :)

Now working on some new stuff to get all of the trophies, working on the golden nut first :)

Spent about half a week with friends making our plastic and rubber refinery, also produces diluted fuel for 30GW of power.

Playing this part-time on my old gaming PC that is at my mums whilst I do stuff there. Running it on Linux Garuda and it is flawless. I think it is faster compared to Windows too.

I'm working my way through Phase2's components for the Space Elevator and forgot how annoying the whole process is! I opened my 3rd hard drive a few days ago and got Cast Iron Screws alt recipe! I was totally overjoyed as it makes screws straight from iron ingots bypassing rods creation.

I've just got 3x Coal plants and a bunch of bioreactors running right now for power and I am upto Advanced Steel for production. Got a long way to go!

A LOT has changed since I last played in Update 7. Given I had the entire map memorised for resource nodes, I hate how they've gimped my favourite Northern Forest spot which was well known :o

Finished building a large crystal oscillator factory last night, which in combo with my circuit board factory now has an assembly plant to make computers. Took quite a while but nice to have it done, output gets sent to a dimensional depot and the rest to the sink.

Going to start making proper factories for motors and heavy modular frames soon, that is the next project. Also been round the whole map and hooked up alll the geysers to geothermal generators for extra power as well as set up some very large coal plants.

Im still not very creative or inventive when it comes to making factories look aesthetically pleasing though!

Finished the game about a week ago (well, the last phase anyway). After completing every release up to this point, I feel 1.0 has been made so much easier, it's no longer really a challenge :) . Obv the game never stops, And i will continue to build.

Just bought the golden nut, (1000 tokens) was a real slog - so that's that, finished :)

In the end, to get the golden nut, we were sinking 4x ballistic warp drives per min, and AI servers, I think each coupon cost around 40 Million points towards the end, Somersloops are the key for the real late game items.

My mate built a shrine to put the golden nut trophy in, but it's so small you can barely see it :D

Currently working towards Tier 8, and building a factory to make the elevator parts and, man, when I look across the map now I can see my factories and railways strewn across it as far as eye can see. It's kinda crazy. Also, it's funny looking at those early factories I thought were huge and seeing how small they seem now compared to the one I'm currently building or my second oil facility.

My mate built a shrine to put the golden nut trophy in, but it's so small you can barely see it :D

Did he put it in hand, and then place it by clicking, or just drop it from inventory? Because the trophies come out way bigger if you do the former of those than the latter and that looks too small to me. Mind you, I've not the golden nut specifically so it could be really small compared to the others?

Ahhhhhhhhhn maybe that's what it is, we were confused as last time we did the golden nut (and all of the trophies) they were way bigger, maybe that's what we forgot!

Edit - yes :D that fixed it,
