Is there any way to turn dismantle crates off? So it just refuses to dismantle if you don't have inventory space for instead?
Drag the contents of the crate to the dustbin icon in your player inventory, then it will disappear - you obviously lose those contents.

To get rid of them off the map you can open the map and hide them by clicking the icons in the selection tree on the left.

Yeah, I know how to get rid of them, I'd just rather they didn't appear at all. It's just a pain in the neck to deal with. I've got one I just can't find at all. I guess it's clipped into the terrain in some weird way.

Started a new game with 1.0 and am currently working on Phase 2.

My production lines have been a bit of a mess, so I've started tearing everything down and splitting up my factories with a bit more thought behind them before I work on the steel products for the space elevator.
Progress is a little slow for me since I can only play once every few days.

I actually had a chest that went invisible, it was in the right place but was completely invisible I only found it eventually because when I tried to walk over it I was blocked from moving forward, so I was then able to loot it

It'd be great if one of the modders would pickup the now defunct Organised Crates mod to get it working for 1.0
That mod was such a boon during Early Access to prevent the litter of dismantle containers.

I have a dismantle crate stuck in a cliff face - need to edit it in the satisfactory calculator web page to get rid of it!

Just got Aluminum up and running - I used Nilaus's modular layout which is just brilliant. The guy is a genius at this stuff:

I am trying to work everything out myself but Alu is a PITA so just followed his layout - works amazingly well - he made it look so simple.
I have set mine up in the swamp area (east of map) next to the big waterfall in the area - those jumpy spiders though.....

Decide to build multiple factories manufacturing one main part with a rail network supplying them where needed.

I've been dismantling stuff in the rocky desert and a crate has appeared off to the east where I haven't even been. It was underground too so I wondered if, for some reason, it spawned at the co-ords 0,0,0 but I didn't check them to see. I went to find it and found it was underground, so like ThePainBarrier says, you can upload your save to SCIM website, right click the crate and you can move it to somewhere more convenient, like above ground.

Just got some nuclear power.
Decided for some reason that as it was radioactive I would build everything up on top of the highest cliff out of the way.
But then I realised I needeed water for the reactor.

So I've just started playing, completed the first set of smart plates for the space elevator. Next it's asking for 1000 smart plates! Is there a quick way to produce these?

Short answer is not really. But with just two assemblers producing smart plates they were done by the time I'd set up production lines for the other parts.

Ah thanks. I'll keep cracking on. Power is also a constant pain, I keep rubbing out then struggle to reset the fuses. Just unlocked coal power but the coal deposit is miles away so need to figure out how I get the coal across. Looking like one gargantuan belt for now

Might be cheaper to do a gigantic power line and keep the coal where it is, that's what I've done. You will need coal for other things in time though so no harm either way.

You can unlock it reasonably early if you go hard drive hunting and pick everything up. But it’s a catch 22 - spend hours walking all over the map to get enough stuff to be able to double output by which time you’ll be most of the way through the production of the item you wanted to speed up :D

Power is the bigger issue early game as sloops love the power.

I've done my usual and got a coal fire power running at the desert and a fuel power gen going near the shore. Now I'm likely to erase all my factories and associated spagetti and try to rebuild them into something a bit more manageable :)

I do this every time I play it feels, early factories are always a complete disaster.
