Save it for the black stuff... OcUK Manchester Meet 3

Yeah they might be... heh that's quite scary. The rears on the GSi are what they used as fronts on the 214. No wonder I made them smoke :D

After having ABS save me from going over a cliff edge once, I've come to like it. I can always yank the fuse in the winter months though.

Oh, speaking of the pub... Gilly, we saw that girl again ;)

I was talking to El at the time... don't think he was paying much attention.

Bug One, yep, pick up the 220 next weekend :) I see you mentioned that you were always after more power... I don't think I'll have a problem with that. I still enjoy driving the 214.

Went to Leeds on Tuesday... first time through tunnels. I always knew the K had its good points... that roar is awesome

I'm not normally keen on bonnet vents, but at least yours was functional. I like it. I think I might be tempted in doing a battery to boot conversion too. I didn't realise how cramped the 220's engine bay is, until I saw the car the other day.

Your interior does look great. I was always keen of the wood in the 214, but in the 220 I'm thinking of painting it either dark blue or body colour.

Also need to locate some Coupe bump strips

Oh, and 7.16 to 60... not bad at all!

I was thinking the same thing Lopez, hence my silence recently.

Feel free to delete all the crap... or should we just delete the whole thread and start again?

I've backed up the first post so it's really not a problem.

Cheers for sorting it out El, a real shame Sam can't make this one :(

Hopefully the next time we see him, it'll be in the puma

Mike, glad you're still coming up. Hope you won't be too bored coming up alone.

Wooo, 2 weeks to go guys!

 I know, I must be slipping!

Daz, I didn't see Corrie. Shame as I usually catch it :(

Anyway, a bit of an update. -westy- might be pulling out (I'll leave it to him to post) and I might not have sold my old car for the meet which means I won't have a video camera.

If anyone is willing enough to let me borrow one for the meet, that would be great. If I break it, I'll give you my balls on a plate :D

Si, sorry mate, phone was in the car. The joys of being able to park the car on a driveway :p

Sam, you're almost as bad as Si ;) :D

Arghhhhhhh... 5 days! I think I'm going to scream!

Well, if people are staying back for fuel at the services, I think someone should hang back and wait for them.

No, I'm not offering :p

I had my bank increase my overdraft today and knock off a couple of the charges that I owed them, so I can definitely afford the new car! Getting a DV cam will be based on selling my 214 in time, which is doubtful.

Well, -westy- is in a bit of financial difficulty at the moment, hence why he's not coming to the meet.

He's going to tell me today whether he can buy the car, and if he can't, I doubt I'd sell it on eBay. Having a look last night and there's not much interest in Mk2's... especially ones with a scrape on the front bumper and a misaligned tailgate.

Nice one Lee. The 214 is probably worth about the same as a semi-decent DV camera :D

Well, I was going to sell it to -westy- for £350, I think that's a fair price seeing as it's recently had loads of work done to it. It's had 3 oil changes in the past year as well as a brand new rad/gearbox etc etc. HG done 15,000 ago :p

If I did get £350 for it, I'd get the brake discs and alternator changed before it went. I have new discs and a 3 month old alternator sat at home... I just can't be bothered to change them in this weather.

Catch me on MSN (in trust) and we'll discuss it further :)

ROFL Mark, I thought that was coming!

 Paul... gah... Gatecrasher... should I... no... but I want to...

:p Have fun mate! Shame you can't make it to this one (again ;)) but maybe next time we'll get lucky and be graced with your appearance.

Mark, yep that's right mate, Marv is jumping in with me. My step-brother wants to come, but there's no way I'm lugging another person around. I did ask Si if my step-brother could jump in with him (like he did at the pre-meet) but he'd no doubt get bored when we start comparing car specs.

Oh yeah, 136bhp, I think about 140lb/ft of torque... 8.3 to 60 and 135+ top speed. Should be fun :)

-westy- well if you do decide to buy the SEi, if you come down to the meet I'll knock £25 off the price so you can use it for fuel :)

I think Si's going to book it in a week. We could do with a number really.

Note to possibles... please verify your status by this weekend. 11/12th March

Siliconslave, I know about your status already :)
