Save it for the black stuff... OcUK Manchester Meet 3

Lee, yep I think so mate.

You come off J22 of the M62 and continue along into Rishworth.

Take a couple of right turnings and hit the moors. I can't for the life of me remember the name of the area :(

Well Luke, if you didn't want to take the bike, I'm sure you could blag a life with someone :)

Not me though, my car's already slow enough :p

Wow Daz, great work there mate. They're really good :D

Didn't realise how long the straight is before the junction. No wonder we both went shooting over it... we must have reached what... 70 mph :D

Guys, I was just thinking... should we warn everyone of the police presence as they leave the services? ;) I can see it on those photos.

Guys, you won't have to worry about Rovers breaking. One of them has had a recent head gasket change, and the other is a Turbo, so it'll get so far in front of you lot before it breaks :p

El, I wouldn't say that about an alternator failure though. I was under the bonnet yesterday changing the CTS (yey) and I think my alternator bearings are squealing

You've got a good memory Goliath :)

It was the old car that I had to replace the alternator on. That was actually the first mechanical job I did on the car.... behind Powerpak Auto Electric :D

I'd only bought the thing 3 months before I crashed the car, so I ripped it off and have had it in the house ever since.

Might switch them at some point if the squealing gets worse. I recently had a full belt change and the new belt probably put too much pressure on the already worn bearings.

He already has a girls car, can't blame him for wanting to upgrade to 'senior hairdresser' :p

Mark, need to talk to you about camera positioning for the meet. I've got a plan :)

Here's fine :)

Right, on the first run I was thinking I'd set off from the 1st pub before every one to position myself just on the brow of the hill before the long downhill straight.

There's a section just before that straight where I can park the car so it's out of the way and with me standing on top of the brow, I'll be able to capture people coming up and passing me. Should get some rather nice grin inducing footage that way.

Then, on the 2nd run, you go ahead and wait at dead mans junction, getting people coming out of the junction and blasting off down the straight. I can then set up at the photo-shoot spot and capture several cars (including yours) coming into view.

How does that sound?

I think Goliath has a camera and was talking about in-car footage...

The wheel idea sounds excellent! They're always good shots. Just watch it doesn't fall off

LMAO, I knew that was coming.

Can I have a head start from the services :p

I might actually hang back and get some footage of people on their way from the services to the first pub. Those first roads are pretty good.

:D Exactly how long were you waiting? It was quite shocking though... the first time it happened at the first meet, I thought I had broken something.

I'm hoping to lose some weight before this meet. Can o' tyre weld and lose the rear seats. See how well it copes.

How do you plan to mount the camera to get the wheel shots Mark?

Could be interesting.

No idea yet. Thinking something Panasonic. Get paid on the 10th, so it'll be a whim purchase really. You recommend anything?

Good idea Coco. Hopefully this time we'll be able to get some decent passenger rides on camera.

Gilly's run would have certainly been good to see again :D

Found it mate ;) It was on that site you edited out.

Wow, that's an absolute bargain. I can easily afford that :) I just hope they have them in stock when I get paid.

My rover already had chrome sill plates from the factory :p

Mark, that would be great mate... that is if I can find anywhere to mount it... having no rear seats and all ;)
