Saving Sessions / Demand reduction thread

That's typical, I've been exporting between 16:00 and 16:30, then 18:30 to 19:00, so my 18:30 to 19:00 baseline will already be higher.

60p 18:00 to 19:00

How do we game baseline???
If your on intelligent Octopus Go you can try getting a cheap charging slot in the most common saving session times, this will increase the amount you normally use in that period, then export your battery during the saving session.

I cant even find a price, I go to saving sessions info section and it just says

"In Saving Sessions, we pay you to use less energy during peak times when the demand on the grid is highest. That means we can avoid turning on fossil-fuel run power plants and benefit from cheaper, greener energy!
You're in for Saving Sessions!
Good to know: You'll still need to opt in to individual Sessions."

But I see no pricing or opt in choice or even the timeframe?

In any case im not opting in at a loss, balls to that.

Signed up. Luckily we aren't using the oven to cook today and I've been force exporting from 20:00 since going onto Intelligent Go.

Will need to do 20 minutes or so of force charging beforehand though as I've hit the battery pretty hard today and generation has been rubbish again.

Guess this will work like the others where dumping battery at 18:00 - 19:00 will give negative usage and therefore payment per kWh exported on top of normal export payments?

I may make a little bit but think I'm going to struggle, battery is already low (57%) so probably only just going to have enough to discharge for the hour and then will be using grid electricity after, which will be pricey-ish as I'm on Agile (luckily I will be out tonight, so should be low usage), not worth charging the battery beforehand because Agile price is already close to the saving session price!

Ironically, think my GF with no battery will do better, as usually would be cooking and running electric heating at the the session time, but she also will be out, so should be a pretty decent saving!

No, all regions are open looking at their Twitter. If no email however you can’t opt in. Must be a tech issue somewhere. Not a big issue, business as normal for our household this evening unless we get a late email

Wife just saw the email, 60p just isn't worth even thinking about bothering for us as we don't have a battery or anything fancy. We've always stopped cooking dinner by 6pm anyway so all we could do is turn the xmas tree off or sit in the dark..

My battery is at 50% and is set to kick on and charge at 17:00 for 30 mins which will add about 25% ready to dump 50% back to the grid for an hour.

The heat pump will go off at 18:00 for an hour and I’ll ride out the rest of the day on grid.
