So I've looked at the ipace, preowned 23 plated versions seem to have bombed in price but the apr rates are high for anything of that age..

I am biased so keep that in mind but iiwy and you want an ipace I would say go for an MY21.model. not much different from MY23 in terms of spec. make sure it has an official Jag approved warranty (2 years if from main dealer). I think they still throw in a charge point as well FOC.

if you are worried about people knowing it's not new stick a private plate on it.
you will save a bundle.
admittedly the MY24 have visual bits on if you are a real plate snob but then you are talking serious cash.

Thanks for you advice, the ipace does fit the bill, but with a 21 plate I'd be thinking why substitute one car of the same age for another, where would I benefit? I'd still would have to think about a extended warranty and a service plan so really not much better off.

Anyway I've had a long talk with my partner over the weekend as unfortunately some health issues have risen up again and it looks like there might be another year of her receiving treatment. So I'm going to try and cancel the order for the new car, if there isn't much of a financial penalty, sell the M235i in August/September, and just go down to the one car until she's well again. Then we can look at a replacement vehicle for us both to use sometime in about a year's time.

But thanks to everyone for their contributions, positive or negative, I always appreciate the input..
