Saxxxo VTR

I got my silver one for £3250 with 40k miles on the clock, 02 plate, full dealer history,11 months mot, 6 months tax, mint condition, aftermarket ICE, toad alarm etc.

You've gotta make sure you get one which hasn't been slammed to the floor or had a real rough ride like no service history etc.

I'm extremely pleased with mine, it needs two new rear tyres but there is still a decent ammount of tread left. There is a little gap in a join on the exhaust causing it to blow a little but i'm told it's a cheap job.........apparently.

I drove focus's, 306's, Fiesta's, Punto's and as soon as I drove the VTR I said this is what I want. It is not only nippy, but it handles superbly other than that it's super.

If you can justify the price of the insurance, you will not be disappointed.

I went for silver because of keeping it clean lol.............and posi blue seems to be extremely popular around here, especially on Furio's.

Holy thread bumpage. ;)

Lol, I hit the enter button too early on that post you quoted on.

So far i'm really impressed with it.

My mates have all commented on how fast it feels, even when i'm driving under the speed limit. Maybe because of the suspension I dunno.

I've filled it up twice now both, around £33 give or take a few p and i'm getting about 305/310 to the tank. Actually got 320 out of my first tank LOL.

You're all gonna say, he's driving like a saint. I redline it when I get the urge to do so but i'm still getting used to the pedals lol!!!

This is what gets me according to the handbook the fuel tank is 10 gallon, yet i can never get more than £35 in the tank.

This is the last time I EVER buy a french car, and I would recommend everyone avoids them. The Saxo has got to be the worst car ive had the misfortune of owning. Everything about it screams out cheapness, its noisy, unrefined, has a truely terrible driving position, and its not fast. Despite what everyone says, it isnt that much fun either.
I probably would have loved it at 17, but after driving so many much better cars its has just reenforced just how **** it really is. Maybe im just getting old?

Sorry to hear about the problems you have had with your Saxo but why did you buy it if you wanted something refined. It's a French car, with French interior. You will get rattles and squeaks because it's French. If you wanted something refined you should have looked at a German car.

I've found the driving position to be really good, compared to the 306 especially.

It's not fast..........0-60 in 9, top speed 120mph???

Fast compared to it's main competitors Fiesta Zetec S and Corsa SRI.

No it's not fast compared to an Evo or Subaru but for pure fun it's great at the price you can pick them up.

I heard that it's not good sucking the crap off the bottom of the tank....true?

I must try and see if I can get 30miles extra out of my tank when light comes on lol.

I get 305/310 when the light comes on :)

Not a problem if your fuel filter is in good nick that will get rid of all the crap, and as long as the fuel hasnt been sat in the tank for months it should be ok, as a poor student mine is always running on fumes. :p
