FEAR made me jump and gave me shivers a lot (mainly the anticipation and suspense) and the first time I player STALKER: SOC I jumped when I saw blood suckers running at me!

Doom 3. Mutant babies stood out, they were very unnerving.

Dead Space, partly becuase I found the over the shoulder camera angle and controls very clunky. It was scary in fights as my character wasn't doing what I wanted it to do

Sorry to go off on a tangent slightly. Many have mentioned Amnesia: Dark Descent. Is it any good? Look like it had a good interactive environment from a video I watched.

best scary atmosphere would have to be Vampire: Bloodlines inside the haunted house now that was some scary stuff lol, have to try amnesia been meaning to buy it so many times in all the sales hopefully it will come back on sale soon lol.

I just assumed since you pointed out the price on steam that you missed the fact that it's half that price on their website and on Desura (a sort of Steam alternative for Indie games if anybody doesn't know, has a native linux client

).

Scariest game for me is minecraft.

You're deep underground, an inventory full of diamonds, ore and other goodies. You're running low on torches, health and food, about to return home and stash your goodies, you just want to clear out one more room.....

....... then suddenly you hear a HISSSSSSSSSSSSSS coming from beind you.

Well I initially posted to basically thank you for bringing the game to my attention. The steam price was just a heads-up.

I shall download it later and no doubt soil myself shortly after.
