scout update TF2

Part of me is hoping that one of the last two updates will be to add dual/quad core support (properly).

It wont be in one of these updates. Thats a highly technical update to the game, whereas the packs are all about gameplay, and aimed at the non technical gamer.

The last 2 updates will be the last weapon and hopefully a 'meet the' video, or a new game mode, or both.

Agreed, muti cpu support would be nice, but surely it would mean recoding of the steam engine?
 
It's already useable by a console command, it's just very unstable atm. The devs would just have to fix the issues and it'll be good to go :)

Yep, i used to use it with my old e4400 cpu. Turned it off at the moment because it was annoying how sometimes it would crash after 5mins and sometimes after a few hours. The fps boost is quite nice though.

For reference, the console command is:

mat_queue_mode -1

(by default, but you can change it too 2 for dual core and 4 for quad core).

Whilst stable multicore support would be a great bonus, these class updates are purely for new gameplay content.. multicore support is a massive, complete engine overhaul.

It will most likely be implemented shortly, as they've already got it working proficiently in L4D.
 
If its anything like the last few updates, I expect next weekend will be a 'free weekend' anyway, so either use the pass for Wed/Thur/Fri or wait intill next monday to get a full 5 days

This is great, I'll have so many more scouts to kill. It won't make me play the scout though, it used to be a great class in tfc but without grenades its just..meh.
 
The scout is THE number one unit for capturing points and is great for keeping the timer running on cart games.

I think besides the Sniper my favourite class is the scout. The only enemy the scout has is a Pyro and a Sentry. You can literally run circles around any other class.

I was discussing this with a friend, for further updates.
But we couldnt think of many for the remaining classes (Solider, Engineer, Sniper, Spy).

We thought of Sniper
Bouncing Bullet (But how do you negate this special over the existing rifle)

Engineer
Mines (Instead of the turret)
Shield (instead of dispenser)

We couldnt think of anything else though
 
Fantastic ...love the scout and as I don't get much time to game any more, it's very easy to play a few quick rounds and have a great time batting a few players to death.
