Scuba Diving thread?

Anyone dived in Belize?

I'm thinking of going with the GF at christmas and she wants to learn to dive and I want to get another couple of dives under my belt after getting mine last november. Does anyone have any recommendation for a reliable dive company?

One of the instructors I work with spent a few years in South America,a while in Belize, I will ask him if he did any diving there.

If she wants to learn to dive I suggest does a referral course. This means she does pretty much all the theory and the pool dives in England & then the open water stuff & final exam is referred over to a dive center of your choice. Doing this is is great because it means you don't get stuck doing crappy PADI theory work & pool dives when you should be enjoying your holiday!

Yep, that's what I'm planning for her to do. Saves time on location!

That would be great, thanks.:)

Surprised Phate hasn't been in here yet having just got back from Dahab after completing his (open water?) course. :D

My next trip is booked :D:D:D:D:D:D
Marsa Alam in November (with my local club Dive90)
Never been to Egypt before, only taken me 14 years to get a trip there booked, :o

Anyone got any recomendations on who to dive with in Malaysian Borneo? Thinking I'll probably dive in Kota Kinabalu and Semporna. Maybe do a couple of the wrecks in Brunei

Stunning photos

Anyone been to zanzibar and more to the point any advice for learning to dive in zanzibar.

Im climbing kilimanajro in ooctober and am looking to go to zanzibar afterwards, the plan was to do the qaulifications here then just get a dive package out there, but been looking at costs for all the equpment i need (kili) and am running out of money. So one way I could save is do the course there, rather than pay for course here and then pay for extra dives out there.

Is this a good idea? Is there good packages that can do the course then a few extra dives to actual see things.

I've got about 5 weeks to decide due to flights, well i can dec iide later but the have to pay more to change the flights.

If it is a good idea, any idea on best company, area etc.

I'm in Malaysia at the moment on a 3 day trip from Manila. Was diving in Cebu in a place called Moalboal. Best diving I've done in my life. Glad I'll be back again soon.i borrowed a friends gopro but it decided to pack up at the last minute!

Divers of Overclockers.... spec me a last minute week away...
I booked 27th Jun - 6th July off work to go on a weeks livaboard in Egypt but left the holiday booking too late and the boat was full by the time I got myself into gear. :o
I was going to cancel the week off but actually, **** it. :D I want some time off..

Your thoughts...
So far I've looked at Maldives liveaboards but everything is dry docked as it's out of season there.
I have found some nice cheap direct easyjet flights to Malta but I've been there twice already...
Kinda at a loss where to go now. I don't want to spend half the holiday flying either and 10hrs to Maldives was kinda pushing it, so what's left inside that....

Needs to be warm/hot water, sunny and not too "low rent"
