So on those calculations of making up 5k a day, at current pace it'll take us about another 30 days to overtake.. but we only have half that.

If we can't beat them at seti classic then we will beat them at boinc.
Remember we have about 5 times less members than them so were actually doing very well indeed.
 
I'm now pushing out 140+ a day :D

Newest aquisition is my 165 dual core opteron and am getting about 30 a day from it.

Got a 146 Opteron to build and hopefully get about 2.6Ghz out of it in the next few days to help with the cause.
 
Very pleased with the command line version of seti.
Combined with SetiSpy i'm getting more functionality than the gui version whilst cutting my average time per unit from almost 4 hours down to less than 2 hours! :p
We'll catch those germans yet!
I just hope they aren't stashing to pull a fast one on us... :eek:
 
Looking at the Seti@Work page they average about 7k - 8k a day, on the 26th they submitted 50151 :confused: , i seen this same occurance at least twice before for them, so there must be at least one person stashing.

Slight OT while i think about it, when do you get tiffy's with nice space pictures on them?, i want one before the end :p, but as i wont get to my 1000 unit tiffy before the 15th,all i'm getting in black and white stuff. It's no big issue, would be nice to know if it possible to get one. (and save it off for old times sake) :D

just add &color=1 or &color=2 to the end of the tiffy URL to get it in glorious tecnhicolour :)
 
Not that the colour ones are any good :(, on &color=1 the signature overlaps the picture in a big black box, on &color=2 the black text on the bottom right cannot be seen.
 
Just been looking at my seti progress and it has come up with the following:

Sending result - connecting to server
connect: No such file or directory
Cannot connect to server; will retry in an hour

Edit: all i did was close seti down while i burnt a CD, but the above happened when i opened it up again.

We'll be shutting down the "SETI@home Classic" project on December 15. The workunit totals of users and teams will be frozen at that point, and the final totals will be available on the web.

Looks like stashing on the 15th won't be worth it afterall..
 
cool! downloading a few WU's from shishco's queue as we speak. Lets hope borkely ain't down for too long. Normally I have a big supply of WU's for just such times. When its up and running again I may consider setting my own seti queue up to help out. Thats if its fairly easy to go about doing. Anyways good luck to everyone...

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but there's a little running total here from here and it shows us as 143248 behind so we're gaining...not sure if we're gaining quickly enough though.

But keep going everyone!! :D
