Seenheiser pc 360

true - I exaggerated a little lol.

The guy went from a Titanium HD to the new Z series using only optical out and claims a difference in sound - yet the Titanium HD supports dolby digital Live also, so my point rings true ;)

If you're talking about roman59, he did write:

This card sounds much better than the old one.

Plugged in my Sennheiser PC360 headphones and was really blown away, they sound like a new set of headphones now, the onboard headphone amp really makes a big difference.

I assumed he was talking about the headphone output from his new card. If he can hear a difference over the optical output, perhaps he upgraded to one of those expensive digital interconnects at the same time ;)

Yes I was talking about the headphone amp, which was the main reason I switched cards.

Still using the same 5.1 amp & speakers, with the optical connection as on my old Titanium HD card.

Had mega problems with Windows 8 & am convinced it was the old Titanium HD drivers causing the constant crashes I was getting.

Cheers all

The pc360's are great, used them on the d2 and stx, both are very good but stx is better, if money isn't a problem then it's worth the investment, you would need to change it for a very long time.

People that buy fancy headphones and stick them in onboard sound should be shot.

I'm confused - why don't you just get the Xonar Xense? They're matched with the sound card..

nevermind - they're PC350 not 360 - but even so - PC350 Xonar Xense bundle, job done.

Xense is a great buy really. For £180 you get a £140 or so sound card and a £130 headset. The slight downside is that the 360's are better. To buy those and a similar sound card, you're talking £300. I very much doubt the 360's are so much better one can justify the extra £120.

Yes the xense bundle is pretty decent, the PC350's lack bass but can be modded (if you feel up to it) by taking off the outer shell and drilling holes in them. Theres quite a few guides out there on how to do this, i did it myself a while back and it did increase the bass noticeably.

Its clear to me you have no idea what you are talking about lol. I am done with you

LOLOLOLOL Show me? You sum all my post up as Fanboy drivel. Everything you said about me is wrong and you can't handle that.

Its a bit sad really, you can't lose so you resort to insult, total factless arguments and making up ****.

Of course you are done with me, You have nothing to argue with, you are wrong plain and simple and you hate the thought that a creative card might actually be good.

Oh, yeah it is good as confirmed by Roman.

And the user has a PC360 why would he spend so much money getting another soundcard and headset? That would make no sense to me.

Yeah I agree :) The STX is better because the headphone amp brings out those headphones more than the D2.

Pitiful lol.

Ah, Max, you ok? You sound a bit bitter there. No worries, I have some good news for you. Here is yet another purchaser of the Creative Z.

Installed the card an hour ago. Drivers installed instantly. Sound quality is beyond awesome. I use Roccat Kave 5.1 headphones and they couple together brilliantly. Played a bit of MW3 and it sounds so much better. Will give the likes of Arkham City and F1 2012 a try later on.

Definitely buying a second one for the main PC to watch my movies and play music on :D

One of the best PC purchases I have made all year. :)

I knew that would cheer you up because it looks like the creative Z is turning out to be a great card. Which means creative could be back in the game, which means more competition and hopefully cheaper prices!!

Oh by the way, do you know the meaning of fanboy? You seem to be confused. IF you look at my post history I have recommended Asus cards the most, heck even in this thread, I gave the OP three choices and two of them were from Asus.

Wait I get it, you must mean I am an Asus fanboy or else you are using some weird definition of fanboy that I am not aware of.

Skimmed through this thread at best. But if you haven't already bought a soundcard, I'd recommend the Xonar DG. I bought one with my PC360's a few weeks ago and the audio quality is impeccable. I would also recommend the Xonar DG if you've never had a soundcard before as it will give you a taster for what it's like without costing too much.

hang sec, bickering aside, what does the core3d processor have to do with anything? what matters surely is op-amps and dac, not some random slave processor o.O

Yeah, you are right, the problem was in the recon3d the DAC was integrated into the core3d processor.

In the Z series, the DAC is seperate which means better sound quality.

True indeed. Look at the pitiful Recon3D with it's lovely minimalistic PCB. The lack of good sound quality in comparison to the older X-Fi cards, is down to Creative forgetting to put any components on the board, other than that Core3D chip. :p

I guess they thought they could fool people like they did with the Fatal1ty branding. ;)

I remember that debacle, they were basically X-Fi Xtreme Music/Gamer editions (Both still decent budget cards imo, far superior to onboard), just given the Fatal1ty fascia makeover, couple of extra outputs, yet no better component wise and £50.00 more expensive.

Only decent Creative Soundcard to use with good quality headphones is X-Fi Titanium HD; which last year cost about £110.00, yet now is over £150.00... :o

I use my pc360s with an Auzentech Forte which works great for me and i didn't want the hassle of Creative drivers again.(maybe they have improved now though)
