Selling GPU to CEX

its a gamble but they might even go higher, i got paid for my 3080 FE around 1600 quid last summer from CEX.

Just goes to show you they were down to about £780 at one point. CEX is almost like an indicator on stock quantity as their price fluctuates on people selling them GPU's if its got over £1000 for a 3080FE again shows you they are scarce.

(I know thats the case but this is a kind of real world indicator in the 2nd hand market which you dont often get)

Can always trade with them too - it's tempting to basically trade my 3080 for an rx6900xt, but you just don't know what state the card you're getting is. Plus, the "change" would be vouchers anyway.

Still, I can see it being an option for some.

But you have no way of knowing the state of the card beforehand. Plus, I think they'd have to process your trade in first, imagine if it sold out in the interim!

Currently, too much risk for not enough reward, I think.

True for the trade part, that said I doubt they would move your trade on that quickly. Not sure what the terms and conditions are on a trade though.

I guess you could probably phone them though and ask what condition it is in though.

I'm not sure I'd trust their response, purely on the grounds that they trade so much. I doubt the person you would speak to would really know about a particular, individual item.

Plus, even if they did know their stuff, they're unlikely to go "yeah, it's a bit ****".

Just to be clear and fair to them, I have sold them stuff before, and the process was painless.

I would just rather buy new. Hence the OCUK account!
Well, I guess that's one way of looking at it Bill. I would hope that they would be able to check though seeing as you phone the store where it's located.

To be honest my original question was really only about buying from there, not trading. :)
