Yeah, both the X1 and the X2 are very similar to each other . They don't sound like the 650 though, they are more U shaped with a large upper end peak so a bit wonky. The impact is similar but the HD650 are quite a bit superior to them.

I see lots of comparisons to the 650 and it really surprises me because they sound nothing alike to me. The closest I've heard sounding like the 650 are the older LCD-2's, AKG 65th Annies(To a degree) and the Hifiman Edition X. I think people just hear a bit of bass and think yep they sound like the 650's lol
 
I think my 58 year old ears would explode if I ever put Beats on them, I even had to get the 100AAPs in charcoal black because the colours would just look WRONG on my head :D

Just listened to all of those tracks you linked to and enjoyed them all except the Japanese one, her voice was a bit too squeaky for my tastes and I think I need to understand the lyrics in order to enjoy them - I don't even do subtitled movies. ;)
 
Haha yeah Japanese can go a little high. I think it's because I've played the game and get the emotion from it.

Sometimes I wear my Beats on the tube and there's always the M50X guys eye balling me to say Hah! Beats lol - don't want to get into portable audio wars on my commutes.
 
Picked up a set of 518 today for 35 quid boxed for a spare set as i use my rs220 (same driver as the 650) for my everyday but with a 8 hour battery time at the weekend needed a wired pair for the time its on charge.

I wanted to get a pair of 650's but for the sake of the times i need a wired pair just can't justify the cost but made me realize how good these cans are!!

The 518 will do for the charge time but only just........ i've already done the clay mod after a hour after having them.
 
That was cool. I remember a guy did a binaural recording in his tent listening to the nature around him. Being a nature lover and a camper, I must have listened to that a 1000 times.

Oops I've actually given away my day job, being devilishly handsome has it's career paths Haha

I've been using my HD650 hooked up to my X7 for gaming and it sounds really good. The full sound isn't as spacious as the 702's but I feel much more in the game if that makes sense.

I actually enjoyed both of those.
It was a bit jarring at first because the visuals and audio didn't want to fit together in my brain. :D
 
Has anyone seen Z Reviews(Zeos) Of the HD650, HD600 and HD700. I really don't understand his ear....Basically the HD650 are the HD600 with more width and geared more towards treble.....WOT

I watch his reviews and I still don't know how a headphone sounds lol
