Aye, think i will keep a close eye on it tonight get comfy stick a movie on flick M&Ms at the screen and shout booooo whenever i check the server status page, never let it be said i don't know how to have fun :)
 
Cool hope something pops up tonight and I can report these, so cold with rig doing sod all I even leave it turned on so I can sleep with it on, I need the hum to sleep, yes I am weird :D
 
Don't you have enough nightmares already keeping SETI@home in check? :)

Uploaded on one system, but can't report, so I'll leave the rest not on until tomorrow.
 
All tasks uploaded.........

+7000 to report (but quite a few ghosts in there).

Going run all 3 rigs out (got around 3 days work left on each), detach and leave things alone for a week or so - hopefully things should have settled a bit.

Got a bit demoralised with the outage (hence the lack of attendance in the forums - even though it was down to the Air-Con) and all the ghost units that infested my rigs - pretty sure I've got rid of them all now.

Well thats all mine reported & project detached on both rigs :D lets just hope we don't end up with a lot more ghosts this time around :rolleyes:

Still haven't been able to report - scheduler is down, splitters stopped and the 1/2 million tasks that were stockpiled to send out - gone!!!! :eek: This is going to be painful :(
 
I have the gpu upgrade bug again... simple question is a gtx 470 worth the extra cash over a 460? purely in terms of seti? for the time being it will be just one GPU with another to be added at a later date. TIA
 
Tough call...

They both overclock well, and the 470 is still a bit faster than a heavily oc'd 460, but not by much

You could always buy a POV465 and unlock it to a 470 - Toxic did that and it worked...
 
I did think about a 465 but i wasnt sure if this latest batch of them are the same?
 
Morning k3v, a lot of people are pleased with the fact the 460 overclocks very well and is priced well compared to a 470 if it's just for seti i would go for the 460. Theres allways the option of a point of view gtx465 - the bios can be flashed unlocking it to a fully fledged 470. :)

It looks like ocuk have stopped selling the 465 now. a quick google suggest there arent many places selling it at all anymore.. looks like i have missed the boat on that one now.
decisions, decisions... the gtx 460 hawk is tempting me with the price at the moment.
 
Am not jumping on the seti-bashing bandwagon but.....looking at the server status page does it not make sense to turn on the validators now otherwise we will be in the same boat we were a few days ago....server out of disk space. I know Jeff says there is 4gb of free space "we wouldn't use" but i am getting really nervous having all these tasks hanging around waiting to report :(





k3v if your going for the 460 it'll still do you proud, ocuk might be out of stock but have a good look around am certain someone will have them.
 
Well ive given in to tempation and bought a gtx 460. being deliverd tomorrow... now to get it working with my gtx 280
