Can you answer this simple question. An 8 year old boy says he is a girl, he's adamant. Are you ok with his parents/doctors giving him puberty blockers etc?
What are your thoughts though? Acceptable or not? You're not usually so coy in speaking your mindI would let the Parents and Dr's make that decision.

Children who have started puberty, from around the age of 12, can be referred on to an endocrinology clinic which can prescribe a course of hormone blockers, which postpones puberty.
Children aged 16 and over could be given cross-sex hormones, which would enable them to take on the physical characteristics of the opposite sex.
So 12 is acceptable?Taken from the Dr in the Telegraph article.
So I am guessing 8 is too young? I don't know. Talk to a Dr if you are concerned.
So 12 is acceptable?
No concerns here, I don't agree with child abuseTalk to a Dr if you have concerns
IF that is true and not some tasteless wind up that is incredibly sad.... (used as in the proper term not as a slur)
Life is so much simpler when you are (more or less) happy with your own skin.
I would let the Parents and Dr's make that decision.
LEEDS, United Kingdom, March 19, 2019 – UK authorities threatened to take an autistic teenage boy from his parents when they objected to doctors prescribing him hormones to facilitate him transitioning into a “girl.”
Physicians at Leeds Tavistock Clinic, which is authorized by the National Health Service to deal with minors experiencing gender dysphoria, recommended that the boy be given puberty-blockers to delay his physical development because he believed that he is female.
Fearing the effects of the medications, his parents stopped taking him to the clinic after concluding that his decision to begin transitioning to "female" was related to his autism.
The Times today reports serious concerns about the functioning of the Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) at the Tavistock & Portman NHS Foundation Trust. Lucy Bannerman, the Timesreporter, writes:
“The Times has spoken to five clinicians who resigned from the service because of concerns over the treatment of vulnerable children who come to the clinic presenting as transgender.
“They believe that some gay children struggling with their sexuality are being wrongly diagnosed as “transgender” by the Gender Identity Development Service (GIDS) clinic.”
“All five former staff were responsible for deciding which trans-identifying youngsters should be given hormone blockers to halt their sexual development.”
You have linked the Spectator and a website that is reporting what has been reported 2nd hand in the Daily Mail.....
Nah he'll just throw a lame meme inCare to address any of the content?
"What about the part of your post where you said..." is not actually "What-aboutery". It's referring back to something you said earlier. You know this. I could have re-phrased that sentence as, "I refer to your earlier statement where you said..." So let's move on.Nice "What about'ism"
First you say I haven't easily refuted anything, then you gloss over what I easily refuted. Its almost like you are arguing in bad faith.
Sex and gender are two different things. Its not complicated.
