Don't forgot the nappies.

yeah :p . God makes me think about what would happen if there was a food shortage somewhere. There was 100's there after some free stuff, what they gonna be like when there hardly any food :p

Where is the police control etc to prevent people from stealing all the stuff?

If this was in another country, the police or army would have the beach closed with no-one being allowed on the beach.

It would be impossible to cover the whole beach, yet there are some police officers taking names, so they can get in touch with them if the company wants the stuff back - but even then I'd doubt they would want all the food/clothes back, it would be too much hassle.

How long is the beach?

I know in NI, the police would have it closed and if the RIR was still in operation, they would have it under control within an hour. The army would stand in anyhow to stop it.

How hard is it to stop a tractor from going onto the beach especially to take a motorbike with it in the linkbox.

Anyhow, good luck to the people. Fleabay will be busy over the next number of weeks.

That stretch of beach isnt long at all, its more of a collection of little alcoves with no real access which would make it very hard for the police to stop everyone, though in the news there were reports of people using tractors to take the bikes away!

I remember once in Cornwall a boat with Lego on it lost the Lego at least.

There were lots of little plastic black lego dragons on the beachs.

That made my year.....literally

One thought that does occur to me though, won't getting the bikes licenced be a bit difficult, as the people who recovered them will not have the documentation.

My immediate reaction on seeing some guy with a bike on the news, ridiculous!

a) its not stealing, the law says that you can take ANY of this stuff away as long as you declare it. this has always been the case and has been a bit of a pastime in cornwall/devon in years gone by

b) the goods that came onto the beach would never be sold as they are damaged (water damage) and will just be replaced/refunded by the ships insurance.
