Yes, I edited the first post (not the thread subject) when I unlocked the thread and posted this. The original question was whether Twitter should be banned and as we wanted to keep Musk discussion out of the thread and in the SC thread, I removed the comment about him from the first post.

Feek edited a post which removed key context about 70 posts in. A gaggle of right-leaning mods missed the context and couldn't understand why Hero Elon was being discussed. Accusations of me being an idiot went wild. Conjecture that Feek thought it was a typo because why would anyone dislike Elon. Nazi salutes. Reddit is not a forum. OCUK is not a shop.

No one is exempt from the rules, but you may not agree with how they are applied, but that's just life.
We gave up trying to please everyone, it would never work. So we just apply the rules as fairly and consistently as possible.
I like to think that is part of why OcUK has lasted so long and stated so active for the entirety of its existence.
I feel I have no choice because it doesn't seem possible to have a civil debate on OCUK forums. People obviously don't agree with my position but I believe I have kept things civil. It's not possible to have a civilised debate when people are throwing insults without being called out for it. It's even more difficult when the mods start joining in.
I think OCUK will be on the wrong side of history of this one. I'll drop back in to say "told you so!".

No. The key question is whether or not Twitter should be allowed on the forum or not. That’s exactly what the thread title says.
The comment about Musk in the first post was a view that is utterly irrelevant to the question. And as we asked multiple times for people to stick on topic, I made the decision to remove that comment otherwise it would have provoked further replies on that subject.
Remember, the thread had been closed because of people going off about Musk rather than discussing what was in the poll.
Far too much overthinking has been going on in this thread.
