*** Show us your bikes! ***

Just bought my Yamaha YBR 2014 Black brand new from a localish dealer
£2500 delivered including tax and everything.
Also bought most the kit from there with heavy discounts for buying the bike there as-well.
Getting delivered on Saturday...cant wait!

So really we need to look at some torque curves and see how big the 80lbft range is. What torque/power is a litre sports bike likely to have at 6000rpm?

The peak torque level is mostly irrelevant. Unless you have a CVT (continuously variable transmission) then you don't spend long at peak torque when you are accelerating. The area under the torque curve is what makes a something quick, and modern litre sports bike excel at this even though their peak torque might not be all that high.

It's also the torque at the rear wheel that actually accelerates the bike, and for a given road speed you get more rear wheel torque at peak engine power in a lower gear than at peak engine torque in a higher gear.

My YBR got delivered today.
Love it.
Had a little play with the controls as I didn't have time when I got in from work and got a feel for the weight.
Feels very nice.
Just need to add some blue rim tape to make it nice.
Got the whole day tomorrow to have some nice long play time.

The stock exhaust sounds surprisingly very good.

Blue rim tape? Everybody knows white increases bhp!

Looks nice :) Get some ACF on it though otherwise it won't be looking so nice after winter!

Yeh ofc, also got a nice cover for it while inside the "garage" (really a metal shed with solid stone floor) but still counts!
And nawhhh has to be blue!

Ahh bless, we were all like this at one point... :D then we heard a termi shod ducati or an akra on a fireblade, or an arrow on a triple and realised how rubbish our little 125's actually sound :D

Enjoy the ybr, a 125 is great fun but after 6-12 months you'll be wanting for more power, more noise, more grip and so on ;)

Stop trying to crush my spirit!

I strongly suggest you keep that YBR as unmolested as you can bring yourself to. When you sell it in six months, an un*******ised version will be much easier to move on, especially if you go privately.

In my opinion blue rim tape will look a bit naff.

Anyway didn't realise they'd started putting headlight surrounds on the latest YBRs! The front looks much better than the previous version. More similar to the cbf125 actually.

Took a ride to Titterstone Clee Hill in Shropshire today on my new toy and first big bike:

Forgot my neck warmer and could have done with an extra layer, but had a great time and the bike put lots of big smiles on my face. I absolutely love it.

When you're having fun, the temperature doesn't seem to matter as much, imho!

When you're on a long and cold slog back home at the end of a crap day, it feels a lot colder! :D

Hi guys,

Picked this up in the middle of October, always wanted an R6 and this ticked all the right boxes, low miles, fully stock (although it's not in the pics, I've treated myself to a few parts)

Had a really crappy start to the year after losing my job, but finally found a new one which I'm really enjoying, thus i treated myself.

It's tucked up now for Christmas, but plans for new year are to get a tail tidy, tinted screen and maybe a quickshifter, but mainly to just enjoy it.

Some really nice bikes here. I work in the industry but don't ride (only reason is £££).

My side of the industry is marketing so we usually see all the deals the dealers are making has anyone noticed how much cheap finance and offers are this year? It seems crazy some of the deals that are being made in December. Certainly i have seen loads more "deals" compared to last year

A lot of the dealerships are desperate to sell the bikes now to make there quota for the year.

The feedback im getting from customers is that Yamaha have knocked it out of the park this year with the MT models, Suzuki's V-strom has been a bit of a flop. Ducati have also had a decent year

If anyone likes Aprilia's i know of a dealer who has purchased a shed load of them directly from the factory and is going to be doing some huge discounts on them soon (and with finance).

I'm still on the lookout for an Aprilia Shiver around the £3k mark, just doesn't seem to be many new bikes coming onto the market at the moment. The same ones that were for sale 6 weeks ago are still there, and there's maybe one new one every 2-3 weeks. There's a lovely once up in Milton Keynes but it's too far to go really.

If you're looking for a new bike then I bet there's some stonking deals to be had, I had at least 3 calls from the Ducati guy after my test ride so things must be slow!

The used market is dead right now though, no-one buying new bikes which means no-one part exchanging bikes which means dealers have the same stock they had a month ago :(

well was at my local dealers, got my baby vara serviced prior to its mot. i asked how much would they be willing to part ex my vara for mt-07 abs. was shocked that they'd give/knock off £2500 for it. i was expecting him to say £1k.

shame my mod 1 and 2 are booked for end of jan prolly a diff story then
