Thanks, it'll be nice to be back on an IL4.
Quite looking forward to trying the launch control for the first and last time (i'm a bit too old to be sitting at the lights bouncing the thing off the rev limiter).
That looks lush! Wasn't a fan of the old 'brewers droop' look on the 08-10 model, or the one that followed, but this one hits the spot! Get them to sack off that dubious rear hugger in the process of fitting the frontIt is now mine, all mine..
They are going to service it and fit a pair of Rosso Corsa 2's before I collect it next week.
I've also asked them to fit the original front mud guard as I don't really like the carbon one that's on there (I'll sell it on ebay).
It's very addictive - I have it on the S1000R, and although I'm still trying to master the clutch (can't just dump it sadly) - it's quite cool hearing it hold at 9KQuite looking forward to trying the launch control for the first and last time (i'm a bit too old to be sitting at the lights bouncing the thing off the rev limiter).
Unfortunately they don’t have the original rear hugger, which is a shame as the carbon one looks terrible.Get them to sack off that dubious rear hugger in the process of fitting the front
The seat is probably 10 times better than the standard offerings I bet - had a similar style on a Daytona 675; it certainly looked after the gooch on a long rideUnfortunately they don’t have the original rear hugger, which is a shame as the carbon one looks terrible.
The seat isn’t original, but is a Saddlemen track CF gel item.
I’ve never tried one before, so time will tell.
But, it does have a centre channel to rest my twig and berries
That is very reassuring to know.
Nothing worse that a chafed gooch.
Ok, not my bike, but a loaner until the dealer gets mine ready..
I was supposed to collect the ZX10R today, but their MOT tester won't pass it due to noise.
They've sourced an original can, but he still won't pass it as it's too noisy (it's got no cat).
They've now managed to source a cat and hopefully it'll have an MOT and I can collect tomorrow.
So after going ******* ballistic at the dealer for not getting this sorted sooner (and my insurance ending tonight) they've loaned me the above.
I've got to say, for what it is, it's an absolute hoot to ride and if I wanted a commuter I'd buy one in a heartbeat.
The gearing feels way too short though (anything 100mph+ and the thing is screaming it's nuts off) but that aside, the handling, brakes etc are spot on.
Showing fine for me, am I doing something wrong ? Never actually linked a pic in before just got the link from Google Photos....@Fluffybob theres no pic showing.
I was literally about to buzz off and the wife ran out demanding a photo.....Didn't even let me hide the untidy garage ! ! !Cheer up.
Finally and at ******* last the dealer had my bike ready to collect today.
They'd fitted a cat and the standard silencer and managed to get it MOT'd, hurrah!
I did ask them to refit the de-cat pipe and the Akra, but no, no they didn't, but they did drop off the bits at my work, and I fitted them in 10 minutes, so all good there.
It still had the rear pegs on and fortunately the previous owner included a ridiculously expensive carbon Akra exhaust hanger and a R&G blanking plate for the other side..
So after that lot was fitted, I starting stripping the thing down for a look see, and found (what I'd hope I'd find) a Power Commander V ..
I'll probably play around with a few fueling maps and see what suits, but tbh it feels decent as it is.
And when I say decent, I mean ballistically fast and some, and a bit more for added measure.
The quickshifter is just perfect and the bike makes the most demonic gutteral noises on upshift, which is nice.
I had a quick hoon after work..
but will need to scrub in the new tyres over the weekend, which won't be a chore at all
In my excitement I completely forgot about the launch control, so I'll dig out my helmetcam and have a play with it for @Minibiker
