*** Show us your bikes! ***

Do you ever bother using the different engine modes? I can imagine it being a bit gimmicky. I had suspension modes on the GS (sport, comfort and normal, as well as different modes for the terrain), but never really changed from comfort.

I only really use sport and race. Sport for normal riding and Race when i'm on a fun road.

Race mode is great, but makes the throttle very sensitive when riding in towns etc i found.

I keep meaning to plug the slick plug in and try that.. maybe once it heats up abit :D

Both of you just get full Austin Racing system and stop buggering about :D

Here she is:

Picked her up today, and haven't stopped grinning :D It's quite different from my R1200GS! I'm really looking forward to getting to know her over the next few weeks.

Sweeeet! Not jealous at all :D

Picked this up last Friday, my first track bike.

It's a GSXR600 K1, extremely excited to get on track properly this year.

Liking that, always have a soft spot for any GSXR in track trim

What he said :p

I've fitted an Austin Racing system to my mates S1000 and yep, it's loud. Best part is the quickshift, loud bangs and pops when you shift up, he don't hear it, I bloody do!! :D

Carbon undertray/belly pan does really finish it off.

Beware too, any exhaust that removes that the cat means it will be very, very loud. There are guys with a de-cat and the Akrapovic shorty and they are hitting 118db... so if you're looking to go on track bare that in mind.

How is this being measured? Sounds like either a really old can which needs re-padded or someone is measuring like a **** (against a wall/in a garage or something)

Im the sound tester for all NI races and have done my fair share of getting deaf to record silly numbers and can honestly say ive never failed a 1000cc bike for being over 105db and I would add especially never worried with an akra system, its the quietest of them all. Ive seen big bang r1s with full akras in the 90s for DB level

A super loud can doesn't make a bike fast either. Sometimes a bit of back pressure is needed and the even flow of the exhaust waves will make a happy engine. This is why brand names cost more - proper R&D!

Thats beautiful!

Why do they still keep an EXUP valve on the full system? to keep noise down?

That is the ARCS system by looks of it, not the full system? You cut the cat box out and clamp the de-cat to the standard headers.

I *may* get one too, just depends if it's quiet enough with a baffle in.

uNKle, did your mate get his remapped with the ARCS system? or not bother.

Yeah they make the bike quieter and less jerky for like round town speeds, without it and if you don't have the fueling setup the throttle can feel a little snatchy at low rpm.

The s1000 has two, one in the headers for added torque and one in the end can which can be removed or disconnected, as it's there for noise reasons only. I plan on disconnecting mine soon.
