Show us your kitty cats

Following on from the 'cat in the sink' photo - here is where we found Sam the other day:

Most likely he wanted to drink the water instead of chasing a cotton bud.

Why don't you leave some water out for your cat? And make sure you leave the water bowl far away from the food bowl - this really does work.

I've become accustom to kneading as 'making puddings'
Not sure why but my mother has mentioned it to me.

I'm unsure as to whether one of my cats sucking the bottom of my earlobes and kneading as missing out now, he used to do it so often. Probably because of the purring in my ear and my tinnitus is why I refused to do it :(

He really didn't want to drink the water. His mouth was nowhere near the water, his paw was, trying to get the cotton bud.

He has a water bowl - but thanks for that expert advice

Wow, cats need water? You learn something new every day :p

Regarding "kneading" - I have three cats and all three of them do it. One much more than the other two, but all three do it when they're looking to settle down for a good long sleep. The kitten also does it on my neck in the night when she's bored and wants to play, but I think she's gradually learning that isn't such a great idea!

Also, I always referred to it as "pounding". Not sure why, other than that's what my mother called it when I was growing up.

I was told that kneading was a common trait in most cats, but not all, and that it's a habit they learn as kittens when they knead their mum to stimulate the milk to flow... Don't know if that's a load of rubbish though :)

And Duffman... I call it paddling :)

Edit: Oh, someone already said what I said... sorry!

I've always called it 'pundling', because that's what my mum calls it :p

All 4 of my current cats do it. In fact I think all 8 I've had have done it.

WHY

I had a similar thought when I encountered this!

And I also have to deal with this quite often..

Only one of mine used to 'knead' her bedding, or my bedding, or my trousers (with me in them), My T-Shirt (again with me in it!)... all the time her purring got louder and louder until a mahoosive 'dribble bubble' appeard on her nose and 'plopped' off usually onto me!..

Loved her soo much... I miss her :(

My old black moggy, pebbles, would come and do that, doo, dribbling everywhere :D I used to scratch her behind/under her ear and she'd go nuts, I could almost lift her off the floor, her back leg coming up... then she'd shake her head and stringy drool would fly everywhere. Lovely!

Funny seeing cats drinking from the toilet in previous pages.

This is mine, Phoebe. Or Feeb, Libbles, Fatbot, or sometimes just plain old Stinky.
