Show us your kitty cats

I don't generally like being proved wrong about things, but this time I coulnd't be happier.

6:30 this morning meooow meooow meooow. I woke up thinking I recognise that sound! The whole family was up in seconds as a Gizmo declared he was back home! His head was soaking wet, but his body was bone dry, and he's got loads of matted fir around his neck, but other wise he's fine. Already taken him down the vet to get him checked over, and all is fine. The vet offered to shave his neck to remove the matted fir, but I couldn't bring myself to make him look stupid, so we'll slowly comb it out.

Got no idea where he's bin, but to have a soak wet head, but a dry body, and loads of matted fir under his collar, maybe trapped under something? Maybe by his collar?

Anyway, I was wrong, he's come back, and I couldn't be more chuffed!

Over the moon for you :D

Cats are the strangest...

Not the best pictures and I no longer have them. I had to give them away due to moving house...

Just had a call from my dad telling me one of our two cats passed away today. She was walking funny last night and acting generally poorly, was worse this morning, he took her to the vet and she passed away, vet reckons it was probably a stroke :( .

She was 17 years old, so extremely good innings! Guess i know it would happen so, doesnt make it any nicer though.

Had her since I was 5 so she's always been there as long as I can remember. At least she didn't suffer and was in perfect health before hand, if a little stiff when leaping from chairs and such :D

Having a nice browse through the photos, some awesome cats here.
, need to find some of my own!

Went to take down the Christmas decorations last week, picked up the bag to put the baubles in and got a bit of a surprise :D

Hehe, Florence loves bags too. Every time I get my travel bag out, to pack for going away with work, she climbs inside when my back is turned! :D

Sorry to hear that bud. :( Sounds like she had a good life though. :)

sorry to hear that matey, 17 years though, you were doing something right and she clearly had a good time. Be comforted with that if possible.

My old cat Smokey, rescued as a kitten from the street. RIP

ox, how does your cat and dog get along?
Any incidents?
I've always thought that dogs would eventually end up killing the cat, if left alone in a house, for long enough.

Barney was used to Smokey so he gets on quite well with Esmé .
She occasionally swipes for his ears and plays with his tail etc. but he doesn't seem too bothered and he's also started sleeping in my sisters room with the cat.
I think he gets his own back by eating the cat food when we're not in the room.

Pretty little kitty
^^ Thank you

Our Gizmo taking the shoe for a walk back when she was a wee one :) now she just sits in the bath all day waiting for someone to turn the taps on...

I'm really angry! :mad::mad:

I've had trouble with the old bint next door with cats before.

Last time she was feeding some stray which had a fight with my cat (and cost me £90 at the vet no less) but said stray got run over a month or so back so this is no longer an issue.

Now, Tony has been on a diet...and he's been losing weight well (when we got him, being our first cat typically...he was overfed) but the past 2 months or so hes sort've stopped and in some cases looks like he's gained weight

Now I don't see how this is possible..he gets one sachet of food a day and he's not the most agile of things and doesnt normally go further than our garden or driveway, so unless a mouse is walking infront of him and theatrically dropping dead whilst simultaneously pouring gravy over itself I can't see Tony catching anything.

Anyway, sisters just called me saying she thinks I should have a stern word with next door...she noticed the other evening that despite the stray not being there anymore, the stupid cow is STILL leaving heaps and heaps of cat food out...and shes sure this is where Tony is having a late night snack...

What is it with old women and cats?! I really don't know how to get this woman to stop, when I spoke to her before about the stray she wouldn't listen "I can't bare to see them starve"...so feeding them 5 times a day is appropriate then and I might as well have been speaking in Spanish for all that she took in. She once came home after being out for...wait for it....45mins...yep, thats right...three quarters of an hour, to check to make sure their cat (who isn't ill) was ok, then went back out.

The only thing I can think of is to lie and say Tony's got some heart condition so he's on a specific diet and we are trying to control what hes eating. Problem is, karma has a nasty habit of biting back so I don't want to lie :(

Any suggestions apart from slipping a cyanide pill into her drink?

I'd do this to be honest. If she "cares" so much, then that might jog her into not leaving food about for him. Do a bit of research and give her a condition name.

This, or go into her back garden and take the food everytime she puts it out?
